The Chandler Hotel

What a great experience! After this hotel I will want all of my hotel experiences to be contactless. I loved the ease of not having to deal with a front desk, cleaning service, etc. And it made the hotel so much quieter. And despite never seeing another human, the place was immaculate. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The lobby was gorgeous. The shower was the shower of my dreams. Within walking distance of the river and downtown Chandler (shopping, dining, taverns).

This is our 2nd stay at The Chandler Hotel. It was just as wonderful as the last time. It is located in the perfect location. It's an easy walk to Main Street with its shops and cafes or to the riverfront. The rooms are stylish, impeccably clean, quiet and comfortable. The rooftop patio is private and relaxing. The coffee service was prepped and ready to use. What else could you ask for? We will not stay anywhere else while visiting Madison!

When the exterior door to the hotel opened at exactly 4:00 (and not before), it was the beginning of a beautiful evening in Madison. There is no elevator; however, the two flights of stairs provided a landing for people who needed to stop with their luggage and rest. We are eighty years old. The Midnight on Main was a lovely room. The color of the walls and ceiling was so striking. The picture frames provided us such a unique perspective. We kept talking about the physical room. And that was before we looked at all the special touches. Pre-measured coffee; refrigerator; bathroom amenities; so many light fixtures, and the opportunity to purchase something you might have forgotten. The microwave and ice machine were close by. The bed was a little too soft; but many like it that way. Be sure to spend some time in the rooftop lounge area. It is beautiful and relaxing. When booking any hotel room, the first issue is always safety and the second is location. This hotel provided both. It is an easy walk to Red on Main, the restaurant for dinner. Equally easy was The Crêperie for breakfast. Exiting through the back door will cut the walk nearly in half. The Ohio River is also a short walk (remember, we are eighty years old). There is a walk-up restaurant serving soft-serve ice cream and sandwiches you can enjoy as you watch the river.) If you don't stay at The Chandler Hotel when you visit Madison, you are truly missing out.

The hotel is perfectly situated just one block off Main Street, making it a convenient choice for exploring the area. My wife and I arrived on a Wednesday evening and were immediately impressed by the hotel’s beauty and fresh ambiance—you could still catch the scent of new paint and stain, highlighting how new the property is. As a self-check-in hotel, it doesn't have a traditional front desk, but the lobby's stunning decor more than makes up for it. From the elegant tile floors to the meticulously crafted woodwork, every detail has been thoughtfully designed. The lobby also features fascinating old photos and artifacts discovered during the building's renovation, adding a unique touch to the space. Aside from these displays, the only other amenity in the lobby is a restroom. It’s important to note that all guest suites are on the second floor, and there is NO ELEVATOR—something to keep in mind if you require one. As you ascend the stairs, you'll see an old freight elevator on display, which is a neat historical feature. Reaching the top of the stairs, you'll be struck by the beautifully finished vaulted ceiling. We stayed in the Sunset on Broadway Suite 205, which was cozy and inviting with its tall ceilings. The room had all the essentials: a small refrigerator, a coffee maker with a selection of coffee and tea, and an ice bucket. The bathroom was modern and elegantly styled, equipped with a nice local bar of soap, a hair dryer, and quality body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Our two-night stay was nothing short of fantastic. We slept exceptionally well, and everything about this hotel was exceptional. It truly made for a wonderful experience!

The town of Madison is fairly small so the location was perfect. Within walking distance to the river front, shopping and restaurants. The atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful in keeping the authentic features of an old factory but with the new features of a boutique hotel. The furnishings, wall coverings, and amenities all set the atmosphere.
