Masala Street (inside White Shell Hotel): The entrance looks very fancy but when you step in, it's a kind of a let down where they have a plain room with tables and chairs put together. As this restaurant is attached to White Shell Island Hotel and Spa, their menu prices are all in USD, as is the case with all such other restaurants in Maafushi Island that are tied with a hotel. On the other hand, it seems that stand alone restaurants charge in MVR. A major negative is that they charge a 4% fee on the Bill of you pay by card, which doesn't apply if you pay by cash. The moment we told that we don't have USD and were about to walk out, the person said it's ok that we pay by card and he'll waive off the 4% fee. LOL! We had ordered Veg. Kadhai and Rotis (because their tandoor wasn't operational, so we couldn't have had naan) and were pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was very much like typical Indian taste. The rotis were phulka and served piping hot adding to the good experience. We would visit again, just for the taste.

The Kaani Village hotel is part of a hotel chain on the island. The treatment has been excellent from the reception, where we did not have to carry the suitcases at any time. The first person we had contact with was Magic, who gave us his phone number for anything that might happen. The room has all the comforts: a spacious bathroom, a large bed, plugs, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fan, lots of artificial and natural light, as well as access to the indoor pool. The beach is less than 2 minutes walk. The hotel offers all services directly, without third parties. We have done excursions in which we have swum with sharks, turtles, we have seen the coral reef, we have played with manta rays and we have eaten on deserted islands. In addition, the monitors that have touched us have had impeccable attention. We have coincided with people from many cultures and the respect that there is in general is noticeable. The price per excursion is between $30-50 per person, which is very affordable considering that you spend a large part of the day outside and it includes food. They also offer water sports. We have not been able to do them because we have lacked some time on the island. We have been here 5 nights. As for the food, they made us an improvement compared to what we had contracted and all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) have been at the Kaani Palm, which is on the beachfront. They also gave us free access to the infinity pool on the 9th floor. The views are incredible. The beach in front is private and only accessible to hotel residents. On this beach you can wear a bikini without any problems. There are ushers who take care of everything you may need: lounger, drinks, food... It should be noted that the island is a mix between several hotel chains and private homes of people who live here, so it is not as artificial as if it were a deserted island with a resort. There are many cats that are very humanized, are good and allow themselves to be caressed. In general the experience has been very positive. If we had to recommend the trip, we would only increase the stay by 1 or 2 days to be able to do what little we have lacked.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING AND AVOID TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAYS!!! We spent 3 nights there and were treated as if we were money. We went to eat at the hotel restaurant and asked for fresh juice, they gave us very tasteless mango juice and told us that mango in maafushi is not sweet, we had the same juice in another part of the island and it was as we expected. Every time we sit down they insistently ask us if we want water, and even if we say no, they leave the water on the table and don't include it in the bill, as soon as we get up they run after us saying we have to pay for the water, obviously we told them that the water was still closed on the table and we didn't pay. They even charge a 10% service charge like everywhere else but they never bring us change and keep it for themselves. They cook without head cover or gloves and the food was of very poor quality. We asked to join an excursion at the reception 30 minutes before it started and they told us it was not possible to organise it, so we went to the beach, where there is a kaani beach, asked them directly and they organised it for us right away (they were very angry about the attitude of the receptionist and told us that receptionist did not even want to make a phone call). The night was a circus: very loud music from 9pm until 1am and it was not possible to sleep in the room or talk on the balcony because of the noise. Room service did not replace towels, beach towels or toilet the day of departure they told us that some beach towels were missing, so we had to waste time explaining that we hadn't received them the day before. And obviously they asked us to leave a good review in booking, this makes me think they think we are stupid. Avoid this place.

We stayed as a family for 3 nights in the quadruple room which was spacious enough for 2 adults and 3 children to sleep comfortably. The quadruple rooms do not face the sea. The condition of the room is excellent and the hotels seems to be well maintained. Service wise, the staff are generally polite. The breakfast had limited options. Be warned, the cats literally dine with you in the restaurant and it appears to be a problem across the island. The beach is nice although it is not maintained as it should be. There were plenty of sun beds available. Water sports are very reasonably priced compared to average prices in Maldives. Overall, pleasant stay.

I would give it 5 stars, but I won’t. The reason? I booked a seaview room to enjoy evenings on the balcony. At the moment it is 11 pm and just bellow our balcony there is such a loud (also bad and repetitive) music that our windows are shaking. Actually there are 10 people dancing(see photo) and half of the island suffering because of this nonsense. We also have early flight in the morning so who knows when this is gonna end so we can go to sleep. This is definitely not a place if you came to Maldives to relax. Otherwise clean place, friendly staff and good for exploring surrounding islands on day trips.

Their culinary creations were nothing short of exquisite, and each meal was a delightful journey of flavors. From delectable breakfasts to romantic dinners by the shore, Nipuna and Janith's culinary skills added an extra layer of magic to our honeymoon. The accommodations were luxurious, offering breathtaking views and all the comforts one could ask for. The pristine beaches and turquoise waters of the Maldives provided the perfect backdrop for romance and relaxation. Our gratitude goes out to all the staff at Arena Beach Hotel including Themiya, Ruwan, Nipuna, and Janith for their unwavering dedication to ensuring that our honeymoon was an unforgettable experience. Their contributions truly made a difference, and we are immensely thankful for their efforts. From the moment we stepped on maafushi we were welcomed from the hotel . A buggy was a couple of step away and our luggages were taken care of. With a little quick island tour we were taken to the hotel and the checkin process was so smooth . It was great service from Sachin from reception to make it all happen . Seeing his smile was enough to make all our worries go away . The room was excellent quality and the amenities were more than enough for our short stay . Truly amazing view of the ocean at the 5th floor with a balcony filled with privacy . I observed how other hotels had constructed their balcony but triton prestige went beyond expectation for privacy. The next day we planed to go to the beach and staffs understood and guided us to the beach and also assisted with the best and the most comfortable sun-bed from the whole beach . There are so many staffs around and attentive. The breakfast also had amazing options and staff were attentive as well . Monir was one of the best server there he knew me and he was always smiling and engaging . Even-though i came late to breakfast he didnt show any frustration kept his smile from his heart and it really meant alot . And to even sum it up we had like 2 hours after check out still they offered to use their pool facilities and shower as well .. It is very happy to know that they are still in service for us until we take out last steps out of the island . Thank you all for this anticipatory and making this trip memorable .

The hotel is not bad and affordable, the first to go to the Maldives does not know how to book a hotel. I was originally reporting to the group but because I had to pay the money of two people alone, I simply went there. Looking at the pictures of the hotel in the travel agency's itinerary, I found out that it was cheaper than the travel agency! Fortunately, I didn't follow the group, but the problem is coming! The introduction does not explain the time of the boat trip on the island and other information! Orders can only be changed and cancelled before confirmation. It is confirmed that there is no way to solve the problem soon after it is found! I can only admit that I am unlucky! This should be improved! Some hotel information is not very accurate, such as showing only a few kilometers but it is a headache to take a boat! There is no reminder on the transportation mode of the hotel. Some losses could have been avoided!

We chose Como Cocoa for our 6th visit to Maldives, quite skeptical at first wondering if we’re going to get bored staying at such a small island - but we’re wrong.. days went by so quickly since there were various activities we could do. I’d say the snorkeling at Cocoa was magnificent, our favorite was the Como Reef, also Cocoa has the softest, powdery sand I’ve ever stepped on in Maldives. It’s indeed such a magical place. We love love our 1-bedroom villa, it has a minimalist design but offers a homey feeling plus with the amazing views both in the front and back of the villa. Also our stay wouldn’t be this amazing without the roles of the warm & friendly staff at Como Cocoa, especially Mr. Wisam for solving the problem we had whilst staying there, as well as his ability to greet guests by their names and talk to them daily. And of course big thanks to our butler, Nattey, who’s able to remember and meet our requests and who always had smiles on his face; not to forget Chef Dika with his exceptional culinary skills.
