The Denes

We both can not fault Chris and Leslie hosting at The Denes hosting. They both went above and beyond to make us feel extremely welcome, had exceptional knowledge on the walks around the local area. There was gluten free biscuits and chocolate in our room. Which was a lovely personal touch. Great value for money. Would definitely book again!!!

We booked the Denes for a couple of nights stay in Lynton and it was a very good choice. The rooms were spotless, plenty big enough and had everything we wanted. The breakfast was excellent, the service spot on and Chris and Lesley were excellent hosts and a pleasure to talk with. We went to the arts and crafts Lesley and were very impressed with what we saw especially the lovely cards you made. We hope we can come your way again.

We had an amazing stay at The Denes! Chris and Lesley are wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. They gave us great recommendations for dining as well as walking trails. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was also great! I would stay again!

The Denes is the perfect place to stay. Located in a serene, peaceful setting only a 5 minute walk away from the Valley of the Rocks. My room was immaculate, spacious, light, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hosts Chris and Lesley were warm, engaging and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble...they even offered to pick me up after a day of walking the South West coast path when public transport had stopped. Very genuine and kind folk. I would totally recommend staying at the Denes, you will be delighted..

Myself and my partner fancied a night away in Lynton and we're glad we found the Denes Guest House. A lovely place , beautifully decorated room , friendly and welcoming hosts and a wonderful breakfast. Spotlessly clean as well and also they were very accomadating with us about leaving our car in the car park after checking out. Many thanks...

We had the great pleasure of staying at the The Denes for a few days in July. It was brilliant. Our hosts, Chris and Lesley, went out of their way to make us feel at home in every way. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the breakfasts are delicious. And the surrounding area is ruggedly beautiful with a fascinating history.

Great B&B. Location, organization and equipment, everything perfect. But best of all were Lesley and Chris, great hosts. Whatever they recommend regarding walks, places to visit, places to eat, follow.

Wow! This Guest House is such a gem. On a weekend getaway with friends, exploring the local area, this Guest House was just what was needed. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Chris & Lesley couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. We had such a relaxing stay. Both of the rooms we occupied were lovely, with such thoughtful little touches - I in particular loved my room on the top floor, I didn’t want to leave. We were impressed to be given a breakfast menu to fill out our selections the night before - breakfast was lovely & definitely set us up for the day (they even catered for Gluten free) Thank you for a lovely stay.

A little gem just by the Valley of the Rocks, and with a lovely couple (Chris and Lesley) as hosts. We had a great stay - superb bed and excellent breakfast. The gluten-free option really is gluten free - totally safe for celiacs! I can't emphasize just how wonderful this is for travellers like us. The location is excellent for exploring. Lynton/Lynmouth/Valley of the Rocks/Hollerday Hill are all walkable from the front door (cliff lift to and from Lynmouth is recommended). With a car, all of north Devon and Exmoor are easy to reach. Lesley supplied some great tips on travel around the area. The B&B décor is easy on the eye - there's a theme running through it. And the art work in the rooms is lovely too. If the weather is bad, there's a great supply of books and games available, along with the standard in-room TV. Highly, highly recommended, and yes, we definitely would stay again. Great place, great people, really close to walks and easy to get to places.
