It was a very relaxing stay here. The breakfast is worth mentioning because they have a good selection and delicious food.

I want to thank all of the team at Kilworth House for making my wife's 40th Birthday party a memorable evening. We chose to use the Staging Post to celebrate as it offers a private space with beautiful surroundings. The Staging Post itself is a decent size log cabin which had plenty of space for our guests and included a private bar and kitchen. The team on hand were very professional and looked after us throughout the night. Caroline was a fantastic event planner and helped project manage throughout. I would highly recommend Staging Post as the ideal venue for those looking for something a little different.

We recently got married at Kilworth House in September 2024 and it was the best day of our lives. It is hard to express both how beautiful the hotel and its surrounding grounds are, and how amazing every single member of staff were - their genuine care and attention meant the day went flawlessly and neither my husband or I needed to do anything on the day except enjoy it. Natalie was our wedding coordinator and (I should mention that we planned our entire wedding in 6 months) throughout, Natalie was always available and replied to any questions we had quickly. She always had everything under control and remembered previous discussions. We know she is organising many weddings and working with lots of couples at any one time, but we always felt a priority, special and important. Natalie helped us to feel relaxed and enjoy the planning progress. She also helpfully (and kindly) reminded us of any upcoming deadlines as we went along, which was much appreciated when trying to hold everything in mind. When we arrived the day before the wedding, Natalie was there to run over any last minute details and then encouraged us to go and enjoy our included beauty treatments (including full body massages!) whilst she sorted everything. This was the perfect start to our day and set us up to enjoy the whole weekend. On the day of our wedding, Natalie came to both of us early to check in and reassure that everything was handled and was on hand for anything as the day progressed. Milly ran our wedding day from a front of house perspective, and kept everything running smoothly. She was so incredibly kind and did her job so well we honestly didn't think about anything on the day except celebrating with friends and family. In fact, all the staff were so incredibly lovely and made us feel as though we were the only wedding they have had and will ever have there. We had our ceremony, wedding breakfast, and party in the orangery and it was beautiful, the natural light and painted glass were stunning and our photos have come out so incredibly. The grounds were also amazing and very well maintained. We also felt that whilst the house remains in keeping with the era of which it was built, it is well maintained and does not feel neglected, run down, or shabby. The attention to detail with the maintenance is amazing. We also had use of all bedrooms on the night of the wedding which meant we could use the cellar bar for an afterparty. Every guest commented on how beautiful, large and luxurious every bedroom felt. We stayed in the Marlowe and it was perfect waking up there married! The food for both the wedding breakfast and the dinner buffet were stunning. We had 112 guests and somehow quality was maintained on every single dish. Kilworth were incredibly flexible with the menu, and created two desserts for us specially! They also created an evening buffet menu specifically for us, as we opted for a Gyrus bar. This afternoon tea was a birthday treat for my mother. We arrived on time and had a short wait to be seated in the beautiful orangery. We were offered no drinks whilst waiting. Once seated, a polite staff member showed us the menu and it was after this point it all went a little downhill. After being seated for 35 minutes we still did not have any drinks. Once drinks were served the afternoon tea did come out promptly. However, we were left slightly disappointed. Our teapot had a cracked spout. Sandwiches barely had any fillings in them, and potentially had been left out of fridge as some of our bread edges were rather dry. We also encountered a resting wasp, that was delivered along with our afternoon tea that was happily chomping away on a pre-frozen slice of cake that had been defrosted for our eating. Upon request, the waiter did swap out the cake and apologised for delivering the platter with an extra guest. There are two scones each provided. Our advice is to eat the plain scone, unless you want to loose your teeth on the fruit scone. The atmosphere and orangery area at Kilworth are beautiful! But sadly this didn’t make up for the lack of quality in the food for what it’s priced at.

Since starting our visits here in 2010 and experiencing the best meal we've ever had there, it hasn't fared so well, until this stay. They now have a new chef, who is definitely a keeper! The food at dinner was exceptional. He obviously cares about the food he prepares and presents and seems very passionate about it. We can't praise him highly enough. So pleased they've finally found someone who delivers as well as the first one we had. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for breakfast. We ordered two vegetarian breakfasts which arrived with a sausage and two thin bacon strips. These were not mentioned on the menu. We had to ask if they were Quorn, as my wife is allergic to Quorn. It turned out that they were, so they had to remove hers and make a new one without them on. What a waste. If the menu had listed them, she would have told them not to put them on her plate and so would I. It could have been nasty had she eaten them. We also had afternoon tea the day before, but waited an hour after being seated before it was delivered.... apparently the order had been missed... not a good advert for their services! Apart from that, the visit was enjoyable and we're very impressed with the new chef. They will be hard pressed to find another as good. We can highly recommend him.
