On the Mekong Resort

I found this place when I did some research for accommodations in Luang Prabang. The review was so amazing that I am not sure if it’s true especially with the price that is not so expensive. Once I first arrived at the hotel I realized that all amazing reviews from other customers was genuine. Actually it’s even beyond my expectations that I am happy to extend my stay for another night in Luang Prabang. This will be my ‘go to’ every single time I visit Luang Prabang. Thank you for such an amazing hospitality and I will be proud of them if I am the owner of that place.

We chose this resort mainly due to its stunning location on the banks of the mighty Mekong river. Upon arrival we were blown away with the stunning views and setting of this resort. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful and we were always greeted with a smile and wonderful level of service. Henry the owner was equally amazing, always having time to give advice or suggestions and even drove us around Luang Prabang to help us orientate ourselves and make suggestions of places to eat and local advice. Our room was stunning and relaxing and breakfast was just incredible, not just because of the location, but freshly cooked breakfasts and out of this world pastries delivered each morning. I cannot fault this resort, from, staff, owner and setting, we felt like part of the family from the moment we arrived until we left. If you're looking for a tranquil and peaceful location, with out of this world location on the banks of the Mekong( I have not even mentioned the breathtaking sunset over the river) this is the place for you. You will be made to feel so welcome!! I will remember the views over The Mekong forever!

We had the most wonderful stay in this uniquely gorgeous location overlooking the Mekong river. The staff was exceptional in every way. Breakfasts were varied and delicious. We stayed in two large adjoining new suites which included everything we could have wanted. Gorgeous and spacious grounds. Loved everything about it!

This resort is a hidden gem right on the Mekong. Away from the busyness of city but still walking distance or tuk tuk few minutes to centre. Henry snd Née and the staff could not do enough for us during our stay.. we wish we could have stayed longer…highly recommend. 5 star stay.

We stayed for three nights and it was unbelievable from the start.We were collected from the Airport after an early morning flight .The driver rang ahead and our breakfast was ready when we arrived . The accommodation was fantastic. I would highly recommend a stay. Watching the sun set over the Mekong is just amazing

A beautiful rustic resort right on the river. Breakfast beside the wondrous views on the Mekong as every day life on the river goes on around you. Apartments are beautiful, modern and spacious with all amenities but are authentic from the outside. Organic produce grown onsite. Staff are helpful, friendly and cant do enough. They helped arrange scooters for tripping around the local area and provided a complimentary lift into town in the evening. Cocktails to watch the sunset over the might Mekong. A truly wonderful experience. The Elephant sanctuary which is a 30 drive is an absolute must.

Stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed our time at this hotel. Really good accommodation, we were in the VIP suite. Love the layout of the individual rooms around the plot, with allotments in-between and a lovely restaurant up and above the river, being the perfect setting for breakfast and evening drinks before going out. Appreciated the courtesy tuk tuk service in to town for dinner. Return journey typically just a couple of US$. Whilst I would thoroughly recommend this resort, I would just encourage you to research what time of year is best to travel for sadly we endured bad air pollution from the farming crop burning - so bad that all flights were cancelled on the day we were meant to fly to the capital. Any other time of year though and this resort is special, especially with its great location up and above the river.

On the Mekong takes you back in time to a reconstructed, wooden village on the riverbank, with modern amenities in each beautiful room. The open setting with lush greenery, even in the dry season, preserves a different time along the river. The staff are warm, attentive and easy going. The owner, Henry, lives on site, as do most of the staff, and he provides both history and a genuine concern for his guests. We stayed three weeks, as volunteer/teachers at the Lao Friends Hospital for Children, and could not have felt more welcomed.

A truly amazing stay for our time in Luang Prabang we had a transfer to and from the airport which was lovely in an air conditioned car. The views of the Mekong river are so beautiful and its somewhere you could picture yourself sitting down and reading your favourite book for the day. the location is as peaceful as you want, the rooms are clean and well air conditioned and the value for money is excellent too. They also offer a free transfer into town each day too which is also very helpful. The staff even helped organise scooters too which was very helpful for visiting the nearby sights. The hotel really could not help us enough for all our needs and id definitely go back here when im visiting Laos again
