The Masons Arms Hotel

Stayed here for new years eve, overall ok. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked and fresh produce. Bedroom small and compact for a standard room. The room had no drawers, needed some paintwork redoing, light bulb not working in one light and a health and safety hazard of an industrial power adaptor trailing on the floor for the TV. Positives - the bed was comfy and linin was clean and soft, perfect location and nice hotel. Unfortunately, we had a power cut during our stay and had no water or electric which we understand but was unable to have a shower due to no hot water for 2 days due to the hotel not resetting the water heater which they knew about and did not let us know and did not offer us any compensation or was not really apologetic. Also, they charged us double and it was not until we checked our bank accounts that we noticed this and got them to refund us. There was no manager on site past 8pm however, the telephone number was not visible and only found it when we were leaving. I also felt that the staff were inexperienced and did not really know what they were doing, one was really kind and came to our room asking if we needed anything. I would not stay at this hotel again due to this or until they rectifyed these points.

Slap bang in the middle of Louth, rhe only downside is the slight walk to the car park, but ro be honest it would only be an issue if it was raining. Easy check in, and the room itself was spotlessly clean with a huge, comfortable bed. The sausage sandwich I had for breakfast was excellent too.

A great atmosphere and fantastic staff, the service was brilliant with no fault and the food is amazing as per usual with the masons arms. I’d also like to just give a mention to the manager Rowena, she was brilliant and very attentive when it came to our table great service
