Travelodge London Battersea

Having booked a non-refundable room at this Travelodge. I arrived at 11.30pm after a full days work to find a member of staff being shouted at by another customer attempting to check in. I quickly discovered, despite taking my money and confirming my booking it is actually standard policy at this awful franchise to double book your rooms and operate a 'first come first served' policy on check in. So they had re-sold my room to some other person who walked off the street before i could arrive. Both i and this angry stranger were now left without our money (already taken and held by Travelodge) at nearly midnight and no room to sleep in. We were left standing in the reception while the staff called around other london hotels to try and find us alternative places to stay, eventually getting confirmed at another hotel and offering to put us (Two strangers - one heavily intoxicated) into a taxi together to the new hotel. How safe. The staff member admitted this was a common occurrence with this hotel and the company, as did the taxi driver who must get a lot of business from them and then agreed with by the new hotel clerk who told us it was common and agreed it was an awful way to treat customers. At the time of agreeing to move hotels we were told we'd get a full refund once we contact customer care. After contacting them, their customer service has since 'sympathized' and offered 'gestures of goodwill' non of which amount to a refund. A company that earned over £1 billion in revenue last year. Customer service is the bottom of their priorities. Book elsewhere, you might end up there anyway.

The stay was great, the staff were wonderful, friendly helpful and obliging and they did it all with a smile.

Well I was welcomed by Zac he was amazing especially as I had arrived 6 hours early, looked after my case before checking in, was extremely knowledge about the local area. Room was great, clean, and freshly painted including the hallways…. Other staff were friendly (Manuel & Olivia)

Big shout out to the front desks gentlemen zac ! Excellent welcoming . He was smiling from our 4 eyes connected. The transition from start to finish was smooth . The rooms was clean and ready . The rooms are basic but you get what you pay for. Thanks again zac 5x customer service

I have to take off my hat for the receptionist ZAC . When an individual is going through a long tiring hard day and your welcomed in a hotel that you have never stayed before with such great vibes and energy is very uplifting. His tone was pleasing. Not loud or aggressive. He was the complete opposite. I was so grateful for his excellent customer service ! He was well presented. I'm sure he made everyone's day ! Just like to take this opportunity to tell anyone that is planning to go there your time will be blessed.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The communal areas of the hotel itself need a lot of work. In the car park there were several containers and a skip, leaving not much room to park. One lift was out of order. The parking app did not work neither. The shower curtain fell outside of the shower tray, leaving all the water to go on the floor. I only had one hand towel and one bath towel, so had to use the hand towel. Disappointed in my stay there.

Nice hotel - will return. Clean and tidy rooms. Everything worked. I will hopefully be back later this year!

My stay was great, as always. Very clean and comfortable room and excellent customer service. Maranda is so helpful, friendly and absolutely professional. It is always good to see her there. Will come back for sure. Thank you Maranda for giving me the best room, you could and for your amazing help during my stay.

We had a lovely check-in experience with Zac who offered a welcoming conversation and lovely recommendations on where to go for a drink and view of the river. Beds and rooms were comfortable and clean. Location is great and has two bus stops right outside that can take you in to Victoria Station.
