From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the level of service, so friendly, natural and every single person had a huge genuine smile. Our room was stunning as was the whole hotel, we celebrated my wifes 50th there with our three teenagers and we really could not have been anywhere better, we were all made to feel exceptionally special. It was the most amazing stay, beautiful location, stunning rooms, outstanding food and really impeccable service, we will be going back and can’t recommend Tugu enough.

Lombok Chinese people rarely stay in Kuta for a week and have not heard Chinesetown is very deserted. The resort is amazing. The location of the hotel is superb, with the beach at the door. The hotel restaurant is pretty good in that area. The room was very dark and rather grim - so much so that one needed to have the light on even in the middle of the day. The room furniture had seen better days - a whole draw was missing from the only storage available. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The hotel seems popular with Italian families - the pool and surrounding area were taken over by noisy children. We had booked for four nights but left after two. The lady owner was very sympathetic and understanding when we explained that the room was not up to the standard we reasonably expected for $165US per night. The male owner was much less friendly and unhelpful. We found a lovely place with a bright clean modern room with its own private beach for well under this price. Our strong advice is to read the poor reviews of this place and look very carefully at the photos. Our honest recommendation based on stays in nine other Lombok hotels is to look elsewhere. This place is dreadful value for money. We chose it because of the good reviews on this site - please tread carefully!

A hotel that brought us a lot of surprises and warm feelings, we booked a two-bedroom villa. The hotel front desk manager saw that we were 5 people and immediately upgraded our three-bedroom villa. This is a big villa with a sea view. The room is spacious and everyone can live very comfortably. My son doesn't go to the beach every day in the private pool. Every waiter in the hotel restaurant is very enthusiastic and wants to learn Chinese, especially when I see my parents want to. This is a beautiful resort, however it is in the middle of nowhere and closes early. If you are looking for total relaxation, a secluded beach to yourself and to be tucked up in bed by 9pm then this is the place to come as it is so peaceful and beautiful. We stayed for 3 nights as part of a 14 day island hopping tour but we prefer more life. There were only about 4 other rooms of people staying and on our first night we went for dinner at 7pm. By 8.15pm we were the only ones left. by 8.30pm with breakfast set up around us is was clear it was time to go, so at we found ourselves back in our room drinking water when we are usually going out at that time! We went on a pre-arranged tour the next day and bought some drinks and snacks at a shop for the following night. The staff on the second two nights were much friendlier and the restaurant was open a bit later but still closed by about 9.15pm. The staff were really friendly but without many other guests it just lacked any kind of atmosphere or life. Hopefully as it gets busier it will feel much and stay open later as it deserves to be fully booked as the facilities and beach are wonderful.

We stayed for 8 nights in The Lombok Lodge. We were 2 adults from Switzerland. This place is fantastic. The location is right at the beach and has swimming pool. There are only a few rooms. The quality of food is extraordinary. The quality of the rooms also. But most particular is the spirit of the employees. They take so much care and are so friendly as never seen elsewhere. The hotel provides many services and helps to organize tours. It is amazing what they do and how they do. Big thank you to all employees of the lodge. This place is the right place for people seeking a quiet, high quality hotel in Lombok close to the main attractions in Gili Island.
