Last year in 2022, my daughter and I had an excellent culinary experience at this restaurant! I had the Pizza Forestiere and my daughter the Scialatielli con pomodorini. The best pizza I've ever had, and impossible to reproduce at home, as well as the Scialatielli. We had to wait almost a year before we could enjoy this wonderful food again - and we're good cooks! Finally, last week we managed it, and couldn't wait to come to this restaurant for the food and ambiance. The staff recognized us immediately and made us feel so welcome, yet again. Alessandro, Peppe, Flo, and the whole team were amazing. Despite the scaffolding being mounted for the upcoming Moon & Stars Music Festival in the immediate vicinity, it didn't bother us in the slightest. Alessandro informed us of the upcoming fireworks show and so we considered staying another night in TI, (we had been in Ascona beforehand), so he checked with Mrs. Kanalga if there was any availability, (at such short notice), and bless her heart, she had a couple and offered us a superior room for a great price and also included a free breakfast. The room was huge, quiet, very clean, and, with a very spacious bathroom. Switzerland is experiencing a very unusually hot summer and only a minority of Swiss Hotels have air conditioners. Nonetheless, we were very comfortable. One can really feel the love, passion, and care that Mrs. Kanalga invests in this phenomenal, historic property and in her staff, that go above and beyond to make you feel right at home. Exquisite food, remarkable service, and an excellent atmosphere right on the main square/Piazza Grande. Can't say enough about this place and can't wait to come back!
