Casa Saint Jorge

Wonderful modern clean rooms in a secluded area below Castelo St Jorge. We loved the quiet safe clean patio suite. Nicely equipped and very comfortable bed. Friendly staff and great location. Would definitely return here and recommend to others.

These apartments are almost entirely 5-star experiences, but there are a couple of glaring issues that, for me , lowered the rating to 4 star. First the great parts: The location is incomparable, wonderful! Our apartment was immaculately outfitted, decorated and cleaned. The breakfast delivery works flawlessly, arriving magically outside your door before 8:00AM every morning. Therefore, we had a totally wonderful time at this accommodation. However, there were two problems, both of which can be easily fixed by management: First, the maid service was very inconsistent and unreliable. On our first day, the apartment was cleaned while we were out touring, no problem. Our next day, a maid knocked on our door at 4:30pm, wanting to clean our apartment just as we arrived home from an exhausting day. The next two days, no one showed up at all. Consequently, our trash piled up in the kitchen to a ridiculous point, towels weren't freshened up, additional coffee and water weren't delivered. Our other gripe was with the electronic key system the is used: This works fine once you install it on your phone, but the installation process is *very* tedious. Also, installation is only available the day before your arrival so, if you are on vacation, you will find yourself wasting an hour or more of your time at an earlier stop on your trip wrestling with this installation. All that said, these are wonderful apartments and I would stay there again.

I simply cannot recommend Casa Saint Jorge enough. The apartments are beautiful, the location fantastic and the staff wonderful. Only a few steps from both the castle and the adorable Lisboan district of Alfama, I cannot think of a better place to stay. The apartment we stayed in was spacious and absolutely spotless - and decorated throughout in a way that was very modern but also felt true to the original features of the building. Comfy bed, excellent shower, well equipped kitchen and relaxing lounge area. Get an apartment with a river view if you can - the view over Alfama down to the Tagus is spectacular. The staff - especially Rita - were incredibly attentive and responded to out questions promptly both before our arrival and while we were there. Nextdoor to the apartments is a truly excellent cafe - Ludo's - which you must try if you stay here. The breakfast is incredible.

A serviced apartment next to the castle, this offers a convienent spot to explore Lisbon's major sights. The accommodation was stylish, very clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delivered in a box each morning consisting of yoghurt with granola, croissant, fresh fruit, roll, ham, cheese, juice, milk and coffee for the machine, all very fresh. If you are a tea drinker, take your own tea. Not easy to find, obtain directions from the host. We would happily stay there again.
