Hotel Royal Village

Coming to the end of our 2 week stay here Upon arrival we were shown to our room which was across the road from reception , we upgraded to a superior room to which I was very disappointed with . The room is very basic , no kettle or tea making facilities , no pool towels . The noisiest fridge I’ve ever had . Only nice thing is probably the views from balcony Before unpacking we went back to reception to ask if we had been given the correct room as I was so very disappointed in spending extra for a superior room, was told yes ! The kettle was £€20 to hire and towels £€20 and they are so thin and small The food at breakfast is fairly good with lots of choices but the hot food always cold Dinner I don’t find so good, hot food always cold If you go past 7.30pm the desserts are depleted and a mess. Bar food at lunch time is far better and good service Tried the Italian restaurant once but not to our liking and had a few breakfast too but found the unfriendliness of the man in charge very rude The cleanliness is very good everywhere and the maid service in room excellent We found the Germans take priority in this hotel and once a coach load of ppl arrived they dominated the whole dining room making meal times uncomfortable We wouldn’t choose this hotel again

Don't come here for peace and quiet, they put a big speaker near the pool right below our lake view balcony, and they won't turn it off. It seems the new normal here. The dinner is buffet and nothing is hot, I rush to my table and try and eat quickly as possible before it's stone cold. Limone itself is very, Very busy and really there's much better options on the lake - Salo is far nicer. Allow for all ferries to be a half hour late.

We have just returned from our family holiday in this very special place. I have stayed in Limone many times but this was my first visit with children, and this hotel was ideal. Our family room was great. It was modern and very clean. The air conditioning was brilliant, and everything worked very efficiently. No problems with our room at all. The staff deserve a special mention as I feel as though they went above and beyond to make our stay so lovely. They helped make our little boy’s 2nd birthday a memorable day, and always met us with a smile. Nothing was a problem for them. They really did make our stay very special. The food was of a high standard in the main restaurant, and even better perhaps in the Italian restaurant. We really enjoyed our meals. The prices in the hotel bar / snack area were also very reasonable and again, food and service was high quality, The views are beautiful from this part of Limone (and every part of Limone in fact). Don’t be put off by the walk into town. Although on a hill, it is very pleasant, especially if you opt to walk alongside the waterfall. However, with two small children in tow and battling with the heat, we often opted to use the shuttle service, which was fantastic. Always on time with a very pleasant driver, and we never had to queue, even in August. Finally, if our children were old enough to write their own review, it would be 5 stars all the way! We could not get our little girl out of the pools and the mini disco every evening was also a highlight. Tears on the last night. We will definitely be back next year, and no doubt for many years to come. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

We had an amazing holiday here! Our room was a family room - which was huge. We were lucky enough to have a lake view room. It was lovely. The only down side was a small number of steps with the buggy. The staff in the holiday were very friendly and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. There was lots of the children to do , if they wanted. The three pools were beautiful and very clean. The restaurants served delicious food every night. There was an Italian restaurant on site that you can eat in as often was you want as long as you book on the morning. Both restaurants have help yourself beer, wine and soft drinks. There is a step hill into limone but it’s not unmanageable. There is a shuttle bus for €2 per person which is well worth the money at times. Overall, it was a friendly, clean and lovely hotel with beautiful views of the lake! We loved our stay there.

Superb hotel with very friendly staff. We stayed in one of the Blumen rooms with lake view. The room was very modern with air conditioning. It was cleaned daily. There were 3 of us in the room and there was plenty of space. I have seen comments about the hotel being dated. Some areas were more 'traditional' shall we say but other areas were modern. It really is a lovely place. The only warning I would give is it is up a steep road, however there is a shuttle bus into the town regularly that will come back for you even if you can't get on at first. The whole of Limone is built on a steep slope so if you can't walk well you should really think twice before staying in Limone. We are quite fit and it was a good walk back up from the town, not far, just up a really steep hill. Food was excellent also and the pool areas very clean and well supervised. Highly recommended.

This hotel is horrible. Avoid it. -Rooms are extremely outdated, and smell of mold -Air Conditioning does not work and front desk refuses to address the issue - Possible bed bugs woke up covered in bites - 2 towels given for a room with 3 people booked as a triple room. When asked for a 3rd towel told no and that they can’t give every guest a towel. - Breakfast is terrible - Hotel does not provide any iron, steamer or allow any on property - 10€ cash only charge for use of beach towels - Hotel and bar refuse to provide ice, got screamed at by the bar manager after asking and tipping bar tender. This was after reception told me to ask the bar for ice. Bar manager has anger issues and is constantly screaming at hotel guests and employee’s. - All staff at the hotel including reception have no respect for guests and are very hostile all the time. Asked multiple times to speak to the manager to be given the run around. Told to come to the front desk to speak to the manager at specific times only to be told that the manager has left. I stay in hotels over 100 nights a year for work travel. This is by far the worst hotel in my life I have ever stayed at. They have no standards and I would very highly recommend not staying here.

Lovely hotel, with attentive staff and clean rooms. The food is great and there are plenty of sunbeds around the two outdoor pools. The steep hill leading to the hotel may be a problem for some. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

Do not be put off by any poor reviews. This hotel is very good. We travel a lot and have experienced many hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in room 301. It was spotlessly clean, very quiet and more than adequate for our stay. The large queen size bed was very comfortable, with nice linen and pillows. The bathroom had an amazing powerful shower. The air conditioner was perfect. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. We tended to use the Italian restaurant mostly as this is on a much smaller scale and the food was always varied. I loved the fact that the food did not try and cater for the British guests. When we travel we love to eat the traditional foods for the country that we are visiting. Yes it is a short steep hill up to the hotel, but just take your time and enjoy the amazing scenery.

Well what a disappointment with regards to the room….totally not the same picture I saw ….it was like I was in a 70s time warp …yoj inly have to look at the pics to see. We asked for a more modern room to be told there was no other rooms available ( unhelpful staff who treated us like we were an inconvenience) I did not unpack until we were told this The only plus was the pool area & the view from the room Come on Royal update your rooms to look like the ones you advertise 😡!
