The Old Quarter Townhouse

The room was large and clean but that’s about it. We we were warned about the noise - which we’d had experienced at other pubs we’d stayed at but if it wasn’t the band thumping, it was the garbage trucks, delivery vans, drunken yelling people screaming at 2am in the morning- terrible! Really seedy part of town with dubious characters floating around. Car park was close but barely any discount given. Staff were efficient but not overly friendly. I wouldn’t recommend this place nor give it anything above a 2-3 star rating. Food was average NOT a gastro pub.

Do not stay on a weekend if you want to sleep! My wife and I were looking for a nice trip to experience Ireland. We certainly got to experience its mid quality cover band. Their performance started around 10 and continued past midnight. At 11:30 or so I called reception to ask when the music was going to end. They said between 12:30 and 1 am. I explained that I could not sleep for the noise. They said there were no rooms available, but that they could offer ear mitts! The bed was literally vibrating. I went into the hall and closed the door and it wasn’t any quieter there. I can say the rooms were clean, the water pressure and heat were good. Our bed was comfortable (we didn’t have to put in a quarter for vibrations!) but the other bed in the room was broken mattress. I guess it’s luck of the draw.

Excellent hotel . The rooms are amazing the bed really comfy . Ideally situated in the centre of the Old quater and a multi storey car park directory next door . The defining bar is really nice . We sat in the smoking area even as non smokers it was pleasant, tge food was excellent

Stayed here in 2005, and decided to stay again for rugby match against Munster. Were a little bit anxious re previous reviews concerning noise. However can only say all staff were very friendly and helpful, able to have an early check-in as room ready. Breakfast was very good. Rooms comfortable and clean. Yes it was noisy, but it is a town centre pub location after all. Great location, 2 mins walk from bus 343 from Shannon Airport. Reception organised us a taxi for Sunday morning. Would stay there again.

Excellent location. Adjacent to pay parking lot. Needs to have a card reader installed on the lobby access door so that the staff doesn't have to open it every time you need to go in or out.

Room Stunk of foul smelling drains Noise until 2:30am Fell asleep at 5am woke up to a jack hammer at 7:30 Was told to keep the windows open made the whole experience a nigh**are Avoid at all costs, complaint lodged with the manager, didn’t care at all. Welcome to Ireland

perfect for a weekend getaway, super central, great bar. but what really did it for me was when we checked in, our rooms weren't ready as we arrived early morning which was fine as we had a show to go to nearby. we just asked what floor we would be staying on and they told us the 2nd. this is important as my boyfriend is a partial wheelchair user and we wanted to know **********d have to go. when we returned the lady at the desk said they had moved us to the first floor so he could have access the wheelchair lift. great service. will always stay here when visiting limerick.

Great size room for 5 people. convenient area, easy parking, very nice breakfast included.

The Location was central with many multi story car parks nearby, however, Cruise car park is next door, real handy. The entrance to the establishment is a bit drab at the start of an alley onto a main street with the bar/restaurant area located next door with outside seating/tables. The room was very cramp with 2 single beds, and limited furniture with a view of the Multi story car park 20 meters away. When booking this Hotel please be aware of all the warnings given as it is pretty noisy in the evening, especially if you are located above the bar and outdoor seating area. Breakfast was obviously first come first served (due to limited space in Breakfast Room), as we were in a group of around 12 we were taken to the bar, where we had our Breakfast. Second morning, again no room so told to go to our room and Reception will call when table available. Food was OK, but toast, butter all shoved on the main plate, no side plates available and service could have been better. For the price, would have expected a lot better.
