The Falcondale at Lampeter

Had Sunday lunch here 27th Oct 2024 and it was the worst Sunday lunch I have ever had. They charged £32 for 2 courses and the service was terrible, I had to send my Beef back to reheat as by the time the Veg arrived it was cold. The veg consisted of Carrots, Cauliflower Cheese and a mashed up selection which was unidentifiable. Staff were 3 young girls who hadn't a clue what they were doing and one man, who was wearing jeans and his shirt hanging out. For £32, you expect the best not the rubbish food and service that I received. Will not be back.

This was our second visit to this beautiful hotel. Set in fabulous gardens and totally private and peaceful. We arrived on Friday 18/10/24 for a weekend family birthday celebration for my son in law. We had previously been a few years ago. That occasion was for his wedding to our daughter. Our daughter arranged to have the 19th for the family members on both sides to have the whole hotel for 24 hours with catering all included for a set price. We took our Staffie (Skyla) and were greeted warmley at reception, a warmth and friendliness that continued throughout the whole weekend. The staff really cannot be praised highly enough. They work so hard and are always there if you need them with absolutely no hesitation. They are certainly the best group of staff I have ever encountered and thank them all for making our weekend so enjoyable and also the two families. As for food and drink and facilities, also excellent, even if a little pricey. But, you get what you pay for, so no complaints there. I could go on but previous reviewers have said it all before me. Thankyou to all staff without exception and we will hopefully return in the not to distant future. Just one last note to make and that is regarding our canine friends. This really is a hotel that really loves them and puts you completely at ease throughout your stay. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thanks again.Ray, Lin and Skyla.

We have just returned home from a two night stay at The Falcondale. The food, the spacious valley view room, ambience of the hotel and the ever welcoming staff were second to none. One evening some friends met us at the hotel for dinner and the food and the relaxed atmosphere were first class. Many thanks to the whole team. The Moles and Alfie the Golden Retriever.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. The welcome was very warm, friendly and genuine. We had booked a room overlooking the valley which was very clean, modern and spacious. The bathroom was modern with a large shower. One complaint I had with the bathroom was the amount of time it took to get hot water out of the tap. I can’t imagine the amount of water that must be wasted just waiting for it to run warm. The food in the restaurant was good, well presented and well cooked. There was nothing pretentious about it just good home cooking.

Lovely hotel set on beautiful grounds. Lovely room, clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and great service. We were late for breakfast one morning and even though the restaurant was closed and they had cleaned up. The chef made us breakfast and waitress was wonderful, they went out of her way for us. Great food. Highly recommended this hotel.

From start to finish,a superb holiday experience.The staff were both helpful and charming,and nothing was too much trouble.Our suite was superb with a stunning view over the Teifi valley.The food was very good but a daily special would add to the dining experience. Diolch yn fawr.
