I've been a summer resident here for over 20 years and was gutted when The Interlaken closed; it was one of our favorites. So I was thrilled to hear they reopened this past January. We finally had a chance to go and I thought it was wonderful. The menu is slightly smaller but everything my husband and I had was delicious. The issues with the service seem to be getting better. (There is not a place in town that isn't struggling to find and train good staff, so patrons should give them a break, rather than leaving poor reviews. Thank goodness for entrepreneurs, who are willing to put themselves in the arena and work to open a restaurant, so we all have places to go and dine out. I think it's pretty petty, in this environment to be complaining that your drinks took 10 minutes to come out!) End of rant:) The Arugula salad with spring vegetables, maple balsamic vinaigrette & crispy shredded wontons, was delectable, as was the corn soup with lime crema. I had the special grilled mahi-mahi and my husband the lamb loin; both of which were cooked to perfection, were flavorful and served with tasty and delicate accompaniments. There are few enough fine dining restaurants in town, now that the one in the Lake Placid Lodge is no longer open to the public (which I've heard is going downhill anyway). So I say let's support The Interlaken, The StageCoach Inn and The View - local gems one and all!
