"We enjoyed our stay at the Van Buren hotel. The room was very spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had some variety and tasty. Good location. Only downside was no one told us we did not have any housekeeping if only staying 2 nights. So we had to hunt down housekeeping for fresh towels, cups, and coffee packets. Then housekeeping left an envelope “if we wanted to leave a tip.”"

Log Cabin Haus is located close by to the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail where you can walk or bring your bicycles and enjoy a bike ride on one of the best trails around. Downtown Shipshewana is a two minute drive away with eateries, fun shoppes, and an outdoor flea market, open May through September. Shipshewana is also home to Bluegate Theater and the Michiana Event Center.There is so much to see and do while you stay right here in the heart of Amish country in Shipshewana, Indiana. The house is all one level. The full kitchen includes a refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, with a drip side or K cup (coffee is provided), toaster, dishes, pots, and pans. The dining area includes a dining table with six dining chairs. There are additional folding chairs available to pull up around the table. The living room has a cozy sectional and loveseat. All bedrooms and bathrooms are located in the hallway off of the living room.The ensuite primary bedroom has a King bed, clothes closet, shower, jetted bathtub, and a double vanity. The other two bedrooms both have a queen bed, clothes closet, and a pedestal sink.The second bathroom includes a Walk-in bath tub with detachable shower head and a pedestal sink. This is a very comfy home made available for you to stay and relax! We have a nice fire place in the living room and a relaxing room with books for reading and a charcoal grill on patio out back.
There are many adventurous things to do nearby. We are located in Amish country where there is always a lot going on and just minutes from the Michiana Event Center. Blue Gate Theater and Shipshewana Flee Market is nearby. There are many lakes near by and access to Kayaking down the pigeon river all this and more within 15 minutes.
Heron Creek Gulf Course Is right down the road.

Kickback in our sunroom with amazing waterfront views from every angle or lounge and unwind while watching the large flat screen TV in the living room. Internet is provided. The house is comfortably furnished and comes with an window a/c unit in the main living area and ceiling fans throughout the home to keep you cool in the warm months. With queen beds in each room and a sleeper sofa, the space sleeps up to 6 people. The kitchen comes fully loaded with basic kitchenware, dishes & silverware, a standard refrigerator & stove, as well as a microwave and coffee maker. Dine indoors at the kitchen table or al fresco on the porch. Enjoy brunch or grill up dinner overlooking the beautiful lake. The property also comes with 2 paddle boards included in the rental fee so you can cruise along the lake, or just relax on the shore and take in the incredible technicolored sunsets.
The Twin Lakes in Howe Indiana are considered to be some of the cleanest lakes in the entire state. This is a spring-fed, non-sport, private lake with no speed boats or jet-skis. While our lakeside cottage is remote, it’s only about 10 minutes from the 80-90 toll road. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis, Michigan where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, Dollar General and many restaurants.
