Peaks Place is not a hotel, but an “apartment hotel” It reminds me more like a timeshare property that offers you a kitchen and dining area which has all the appliances you need a dishwasher, an oven, an induction stove top, and a fridge with a freezer compartment. You also have a kettle, a French Press coffee maker, pots and pans, crockery, and cutlery. As a bonus, you can borrow the fondue and raclette sets from reception. There is access to a washer and dryer in the basement near the parking garage. The well-designed modern apartments have spacious living areas and large balconies that overlook a gas station/convenience store (an actual bonus) with built-in automatic shades plus window coverings to completely black out the rooms if you intend to sleep in. The 2.5 Apartment rated for 6 people would be most comfortable with a max of 4. As the dining table had only 4 chairs, a sofa, and a pull-out bed in a sideboard but our room did not have the two side chairs as represented in the pictures. The bathroom was well-lit and had a shower/tub combination. The water temperature was the hottest ever which was a plus. There was a large hallway closet for coats, shoes, and other stuff. The main bedroom also had a large storage area. The Staff - Minimal staff with front desk hours up until 10 or 11 pm. Therefore, if walking through the lobby after reception leaves it is a ghost town and a little odd when compared to a full-service hotel. The check-in process takes some time as Marina is very thorough in communicating all the details which are all extras: Parking, Breakfast, and need to decide the night before by 8 pm, and the cleaning fee. Additionally, info about the heated ski locker (Which does not accommodate your boots) includes glove warmers plus details about the Wellness Center/Gym. The Wellness Center has two saunas, a pool, a hot tub (More like a warm tub and no button to initiate the bubbles as automatic?), and a steam room. Unlike other ski destinations, this hot tub is large and can easily accommodate 16 people but no alcohol or drinks as its inside the wellness center. During our stay, while using the sauna, a staff member added water and using a towel whipped the newly created steam toward us creating a very special wall of heat towards us which was really awesome. It is a 15 - 20 minute walk to the gondolas. There is a small gondola that takes you to a 6-person chair that takes you to Crap Sogon or takes the large 14-person gondola operated every 15 minutes direct to that mountain station. There is also a 6-person shuttle that operates every 5-10 minutes. PROS - Easy booking through multiple booking sites found through Travelocity provided the same benefit or cheaper depending on the booking sites' loyalty programs. Honestly, we would have booked at the neighboring apartment complex but their you delt directly with owners who mostly did not take credit card and only bank transfers and as a US citizen foreign t
