We stayed for one night at this delightful hotel. Simple but spotless rooms, and a lovely restuarant with VIEWS that are breathtaking. 3 course dinner was delicious, and our waitress, Carla, managed 8 tables impeccably. The pool area is quiet and picturesque, and the walks are abundant and scenic. Nice wine list, and not at all expensive. We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast for the princely sum of 84 euro per person a night! Beds comfy and wide choice of pilows. Take plenty of time getting there because it is perched at the very top of a large hill. A special place.

A very nice experience for two nights of our medium challenging walking holiday. In January, so very much out of season, but welcoming atmosphere and everything working as advertised. Having lived a few years in Spain you just have to accept that Spanish four star is always a decent Anglo-Saxon three star - although gradually getting better. But I sympathise with the commenters who are unhappy about that. At Alahuar I strongly recommend paying to upgrade to the “bungalow” rooms which are spacious, well-appointed and with terrific views and gorgeous sunrises. Best thing is the restaurant which is well above what you might reasonably expect - big breakfast choice and good quality, totally authentic Spanish dinners. (Although some out of date items in the gluten-free range which is a bit “Spanish” I’m afraid). Would go back to Beninaurell and this hotel anytime though. And probably will.

The hotel is a gem in a beautiful environment and the restaurant was really really super. We only stayed for one night and had a great long hike in the mountains. The only thing we did not like was that the staff upon arrival was very unfriendly... let us wait until exact check in time without even the possibility to buy a drink at the bar "no place, full". We understand that there might be shortage of staff during the busy season but the way messages are communicated are easy to improve!

This is a really lovely place to stay. The food is excellent and the staff are very helpful. The villa was perfect. I will certainly come back.

Steep slope on approach to the hotel. We had to get everyone out bar the driver in order to get up the hill!

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and find the staff friendly and most helpful, while not all staff speak fluent English we find their English is far better than our Spanish. The rooms and general areas are clean and well presented. This hotel is located within the mountain region and the views are just great. We stayed on half board however as we stayed four nights we did find the menu a little restrictive and for our taste we found the chef had used a little bit to much salt. I don’t normally recommend places but this one is an exception

This is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. It is the perfect mixture of Spanish architecture and interiors and all the most modern comforts you could wish for. Perfectly maintained in every corner. Lovely staff, efficient, friendly and very helpful. However we found the dinner very disappointing. The menus are old and faded! Very had to read. Starters had some strange combinations. We ordered the fish, and my husband’s had to be replaced. Delicious puddings though. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with a really great choice, lovely eating it outside on the terrace with lovely views of the mountains. Such a really lovely hotel in the middle of spectacular mountains with a view right down to the coast seems to be let down by some of the cooking!
