Our taxi pulled up alongside shuttered doors at 6am in the deserted street. Suddenly the doors swung open, and without a word a man appeared, grabbed our two suitcases in each hand and proceeded upstairs to the reception. 5 minutes later we were getting comfortable in our room on the third floor. The wonderful service continued during out 4 day stay. When we complained about the altitude the same man offered us oxygen which he allowed us to take to our room. Our bus to Copacabana was leaving at 6.30am, so he offered us a packed breakfast for the road. Our room was quite large with a big wardrobe, a fridge and 2 double beds. We were situated on the third floor. The hotel has no elevator and I found the stairs difficult, although the oxygen certainly helped. The location is not in the main tourist area, but if you want to experience authentic Bolivia, it's all happening just around the corner, a few minutes walk. Alternatively, it's 10-15 minutes walk to Sagarnaga Street, which is the main tourist area where you will find lots of hotels, hostels, cafes, restos, handcraft shops and travel agents.
