Fully recommended. Suggest to go any time of the year, and visit City Stone “ciudad de piedra” in addition to Caño Cristales. La Manigua promotes Sustainable tourism with local community participation. We enjoyed it a lot, thanks to La Manigua for also taking care of our flights booking, local transport exclusive just for us, personalized guide. Recomendado 100% espectacular para reconectar con la naturaleza y aportar al turismo local sostenible

Consistent with other reviewers, we can only reach for superlatives. A 5 day/4 night visit was just wonderful from start to finish. As many others have said, the experience of staying in the jungle is extraordinary, the staff are faultlessly helpful and accommodating, the no-choice menu is reliably delicious, and the daily programme of activities runs seamlessly. The tours through breathtaking scenery with a spectacular variety of fauna and flora are truly amazing. We stayed in the canopy cabin, 30m in the air, above the treetops. What an adventure! From our terrace in the sky we watched the sun rise and set, howler monkeys in nearby trees, flocks of exotic birds swooping past... very highly recommended!

The Manigua lodge was the place from where our trips started in La Macarena. The lodge is ideally located, just beside the river. The cabanas are connected with walkways, which brings you a tropical forest mood. You hear the monkeys, you see - when it's dark - the tarantula, birds are flying overhead. The accomodation is clean, with an outdoor toilet and shower. And you can have some "friends" looking at you when you shower - part of the experience. The food was just amazing. Not just in the restaurant, but also the packs you got when you went for a day hike / day trip. How they do it, I don't know, but it was so tastfull, very large portions. The staff was very friendly, and helpfull. Higly recommended

La Manigua lodge is absolutely amazing. From the moment we were picked up by Alberto in the tuk-tuk, to the scented cool cloth and welcome drink upon arrival, onward to the thoughtful plantain-wrapped picnic meals and snacks for our hike through Caño Crystales, this place is top notch. The lodge is a unique style of accommodation that allows you to stay inside the Amazon jungle. There are no cars, and the only motor sounds interrupting the chorus of frogs and birds and monkeys are from the longboats that bring you and take you via the river. If you are looking for parties, bar-hopping, or sterile insect- and animal-free experiences, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a clean and safe place to rest between hikes, an outdoor shower under the jungle canopy where squirrel monkeys chitter at you, in a location where the monkeys cavort above you and the local tarantulas feed beneath the raised wooden walkways, this place is incredible. Our rooms were impeccably clean every time we returned from our guided outings. Valentina was thoughtful and so accommodating and even arranged for medication and rehydrating drinks to be brought to me when I came down with traveler's diarrhea. (Note: the ice cream sold from a portable cooler at the dock to the park is absolutely delicious, but you may want to think twice before buying.) The food, the portable lunches and the sit-down breakfasts and dinners, are delicious and fresh. I would absolutely come back to stay, and even without the excuse of hiking through Caño Crystales. I highly recommend the unbelievable peak travel experience of the lodge's sunset cruise on the river accompanied by live music by one of the local guides who sang and played his original songs about the area. We even saw Amazon pink dolphins leaping and playing! After years of travel and numerous accommodations all around the world, La Manigua Lodge is one I'll always remember.

Amazing experience with the Manigua Lodge: nature and awesome, cosy private lodges; the whole team was so dedicated to our pleasure and happyness. Activities and food are also great, they were able to deal with my multiple food intolerances 😅🙏🙏

La Manigua is really special place. We wanted to live an experience in the forest but we were not so sure about how it would really be. However it turned out to be just great. La Manigua lodge is composed of several cabins placed in the forest: cabins are spacious, simple, clean, ecologic and with all the comfort, including mosquitoes nets. The bathroom is in a separate small cabin just next to the main one. There is also a spacious outdoor shower where you can shower surrounded by the palms and plants. Cabins are well spaced out so you can have full privacy. It’s a unique experience to hear all the noise of the different animals living in the forest such as monkeys, armadillos, and many kind of birds. One morning we went out with the boat at 5am to see the sunrise on the river: it was a bit cloudy so we couldn’t really see it, however it was fascinating to go out in the dark and then see the daylight coming and we could also see pink dolphins and an alligator. One afternoon we went on the boat to enjoy the sunset on the river and listen to the songs and music played with the guitar by the boat driver. The food was delicious and very traditional (not the “fake one” made for tourists). The highlight of our staying was having a chat with the founder Juan Pablo who explained us how the Manigua project was created over the years with the purpose to protect the forest and the integrity of the endemic plants and animals and species and promote the conservation of this ecosystem. Everything at la Manigua is eco friendly, energy is solar and shower gels and shampoo are biodegradable. During the two days we had hiking excursions in the natural park of Cano Cristales: we took the long way and did the longest hiking of 9km to see all the 4 branches of the river, walking in the rocks, in the woods, and we could swim in the river and the natural pools. It’s a bit demanding due to the high humidity around 80-85%, however definitely worth it; there are also shorter ones in case. We were a family of 4 with 2 teenagers of 15 and 17 who also enjoyed the experience. Thanks to Juan Pablo and also to Valentina the lodge manager for making our stay so special and unforgettable!

Incredible experience . Deluxe room, the most recommended. The food very good and the staff attention was excellent. Juan Pablo and Valentina are great hosts. The guides Uber and Euder accompanied us to the parks, very knowledgeable people, friendly and diligent. The best recommended routes, if you have time it would be ideal to travel other routes to appreciate more Macarenas Clavijeras “mats”. La Macarena is a place to visit more than once in your life.
