The Lodge at Pico Bonito

Beautiful Lodge, what can I say, very friendly staff we stayed a night transiting to La ceiba to take the ferry to Roatan. The food was great, the staff were amazing. Shout out to Orlando :) We stayed in #4 Cabin. It was clean and very cozy. The garden and surrounding area was breath taking. Very beautiful location. It took about 3:40mins from San Pedro Sula driving to get to this location. The roads were good and safe.

Wow, what a stay! The grounds and mountain views are beautiful. The resort attracts some of the most beautiful birds, and butterflies I've ever seen. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Although, you will not want to spend much time in the rooms when you can be roaming the property or just sitting, listening, and enjoying the outside scenery. There is only one restaurant, with a bar on the property. The prices are very reasonable, and the food quality, taste, and quantity, were outstanding. You will never leave hungry! Every staff member we met was so friendly and willing to be sure your stay was enjoyable. My only dismay was the pool was beautifully clear and inviting when we arrived, but then became very cloudy and remained so for the additional three days we were there. We never had the opportunity to enjoy the pool. Also, the front desk had limited ability to change cash and did not have an available ATM. Which at the end of your stay made it difficult for adequate tipping of the staff, who all deserved tips for their exceptional service.

DO NOT MISS PICO BONITO when in la Ceiba or Roatán. It is a must-see!!! We arrived in la Ceiba via ferry from Roatán in the morning. I contacted the Lodge via WhatsApp to let them know we were coming for the day. Had an amazing driver (Francisco-the Lodge can give you contact) drive us through la Ceiba to the Lodge at Pico Bonito. We had a nice breakfast (delicious coffee and fresh juices) with an beautiful view. We bought a trail pass and walked the trail. It was incredible. My only wish was that I hired a guide to learn more along the way. We went alone (and were not dressed properly...the hike up was fairly intense-good exercise but boots and pants (with water) would be ideal). You can swim at a spot along the way so bring a small backpack for a suit, water and bug spray. (We saw three snakes which scared me to death. Again, I wish that I had a guide for that alone.) When I return, I will be staying overnight and hiring a guide to hike with us. I read that there are also night tours (I would like to do both...both with a guide). I will also take advantage of the beautiful pool and nice dinners at the restaurant; Eduardo was very attentive and fun! I speak Spanish and did not hear English in la Ceiba however don't let that deter you, use Google if you don't speak Spanish. (The Lodge employees have English of course.) PICO BONITO and my entire la Ceiba experience was incredible!

My family and I visit Pico Bonito to take picture for a family event, we did not reserve a room, but had lunch and use the pool for $20 each. The staff was very helpful, place very clean and comfortable we took 200 pictures, and the staff was amazing. they were over and beyond to make sure we had a great family experience. I highly recommenced this hotel for anyone who we love to take family pictures.

The staff, food, amenities and location are simply spectacular. Our group had some special needs and accommodations and the staff bent were incredibly helpful, responsive and kind. We have been back two times and will be back again. An incredible Honduras sanctuary. We saw monkeys, toads, snakes & loved the hikes and jumped in the river. We wish this spot for everyone who has the chance to go

We are a family of 4 and stayed in connecting rooms which worked out great. Grounds are kept very nicely and we spent a lot of time at the pool which was nice and relaxing. We did the hike they offer in the rainforest which was underwhelming but the water part of the hike where you can swim was beautiful! Joelle, our tour guide from the hotel was great! We did the breakfast and dinner plan at their restaurant (wouldn’t recommend leaving for meals) and bought lunch if we were hungry and the prices for that was reasonable. The food was good. The stand out person at this hotel is Guillermo. He works in the restaurant and was with us every morning with a big smile and suggestions for activities. He was just such a nice guy and really cares about his guests! The one negative of this place was the ladies at reception. They were unfriendly and when ever we asked a question or needed a pool towel, we felt like we bothering them. Guillermo should teach them a thing or 2. Overall, a great experience.

We loved this lodge. It was well maintained, comfortable and lovely. The food was delicious and the bar made a great margarhita . The grounds were pretty and full of birds, look out for the red capped manakin, violet sabrewing, keel-billed toucan and many others. The hike (long route) is worth doing with swimming in the river at the end. Breakfast is delicious, fresh and takes time!. If you need to be out early by a specific time order the night before to be at the table at a specific time - delicious and no stress. Would go back in a heartbeat.

This place is just incredible. The lodge. Superb, beautiful place and gorgeous small villa. Restaurant is very good with very good service. The grounds are superb with lots of birds and a butterfly and snake houses. Loads of humming birds. It has a nice pool. More widely there are great, well laid walks into the mountains/ jungle. A few great rock pools for swimming and again superb wildlife including toucans, monkeys etc. The paths are well maid and very clear. There are viewing platform’s above the canopy, Given this is a private business you have to say it goes the extra mile. It needs customers to pay for all the good work it does. If we return to Honduras it will be our priority
