Le Closier B&B

We went as an eight person cycling group for a week with the intention of tackling the Col du Tourmalet. Reg, Sue and Jody looked after us so well. Reg led us on a ride on the day we arrived and then offered to accompany us in his van (with a bike rack, tools, water etc) on our major climb. We couldn’t have done it without him (2 ending up in the van on a frightening decent). There is a lockable bike storage facility and workshop where running repairs can be carried out. Le Closier is situated north of some major Pyrenean climbs to the south, but also allows for flatter recovery rides to the north. Reg kindly sent us numerous suggestions of rides to do. The hospitality didn’t end there. Sue served up magnificent dinners despite having to cater for two vegetarians and a third person with type 2 diabetes. Jody’s breakfasts of croissants, porridge and scrambled eggs fuelled us excellently on the rides. I can’t speak highly enough of these friendly helpful people and their beautiful accommodation.

Stayed here in September on a group cycling trip. Fantastic food, amazing social spaces for a group holiday and excellent service. A great location for cycling around the Pyrenees with more flatter routes available. Knowledgeable and helpful hosts. Cycling support (van, water, supplies etc) was available on our toughest cycling day, which was much appreciated. Simply one of the best holidays ever!

Utterly fantastic in every way. Reg and Sue are wonderful hosts: friendly, helpful, efficient and very relaxed. The food was great and the accommodation is beautiful. Genuinely can’t recommend it highly enough.

I can't praise Le Closier highly enough. Reg and Sue could not have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They welcomed us after our long journey with tea and cake, and set us up for our journey home with the same. Reg helped us with bikes, routes for rides and even took us on a guided ride through the area. The accommodation and facilities are excellent, with everything you need for a quality break. Sue's dinners are marvellous, especially the fig ice cream. I'll be returning with my family. Highly recommended.

A very well run bed and breakfast with fabulous home cooked evening meals. Reg and Sue were fonts of local knowledge. The facilities were really good with a washing machine and drying room. Their dog was delightful. On the one evening we went out for a meal Sue recommended a very nice nearby restaurant. We would 100% recommend this B&B.

Stayed with Reg and Sue for a short (too short) break to cycle the Pyrenees, location is fabulous, rooms are spacious and well appointed, breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals were exceptional. By far the best set up for a cycling holiday I have been to with excellent cycle storage and workshop. Reg's routes were spot on and made the whole stay extremely rewarding and very relaxing. Many of the major cols are within easy reach and the scenery is breathtaking.

Reg and Sue are the kindest, friendliest, most helpful people you are likely to find anywhere. The property is outstanding, a beautiful restoration of a 17th C building - with huge indoor communal living and eating spaces and a large enclosed garden with outdoor seating area. The ensuite and well decorated bedrooms are huge, well heated for cold days, and cool inside for hot days. The breakfasts are sumptuous and the the home cooked evening meals delicious. Oh, and don't forget the afternoon tea and home baked cakes! We stayed as a small cycling group of 4 blokes - it is without doubt the best set up I've ever seen for a cycling holiday in many years of cycling - we were incredibly well looked after by Sue, and Reg is a mine of information about local routes and services and has recommended routes or will help you set up something bespoke. The bike store area is great and there are plenty of tools for every need available. Airport pickup from Lourdes was super convenient and we also used the drop off to get near to the Tourmalet to cycle it from that direction. There are a huge number of great routes to ride from the doorstep including many iconic cols - Aspin, Tourmalet, Port de Bales, Peyresourde to name a few. I seriously can't recommend this place highly enough!

The hosts and their friendly dog have a lovely B&b with spacious comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, and great advice for exploring the nearby Pyrennes sights and towns. They were overly gracious and accommodating to our one year old daughter. Highly recommend if you are visiting the area

Man wohnt in einem liebevoll renovierten alten Bauernhaus. Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit und verfügen über viele Tipps was man in der Umgebung so unternehmen kann. Wir wurden sher herzlich aufgenommen und haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Von der nahen Autobahn haben wir nichts gehört.
