Kasui-en (The Westin Miyako Kyoto)

An old waiter in the hotel was not very friendly to guests. The room I arranged for the first night was very small. Although the facilities in the room were good, the layout was unreasonable and it was not comfortable to stay in. I would like to give a 5-point praise to Ctrip. I told Ctrip that the room was too small and it was not the room in the picture I booked. Ctrip actively contacted the hotel and changed to a satisfactory room the next day. They also paid for the extra bed as compensation. After-sales service is still guaranteed.

Ohara/Kibune/Kurama
I stayed in a private room with an open-air bath, but as soon as I entered the room, it smelled like cigarettes. I confirmed that this was a non-smoking room, and there was a sign saying no to smoking in the room. I had no choice but to try to ventilate the room for a while, but it didn't work. When I turned on the air conditioner, the smell of cigarettes wafted out from there. I complained to the front desk, but they told me they didn't have a replacement room, so I was left alone. It's as if they only think of us as a money vine that will drop a huge amount of money during the high Obon season. The staff did not come to the room and only apologized over the phone, which felt very dishonest. The cleaning company at this hotel and the way the hotel checks to see if the rooms are in good condition must be very sloppy. In the first place, I question the morals of guests who smoke in non-smoking rooms. As a result, I fell ill and had a terrible experience. Come to think of it, the landlady never showed up. It's fine if it's a cheap hotel, but since this is a luxury inn, there should be appropriate measures against smoking and treatment for guests. No matter how well-equipped the hotel is or how good the location is, this is putting the cart before the horse. It turned out to be the worst stay. I thought I had found a good place to stay, but I was wrong. It's a shame.

Kyoto Station
I like Thailand and visited to experience the atmosphere of Thailand. Since I live in Kyoto, I will only have an impression of the spa plan with a pool and the lounge. We were greeted with a wonderful smile from the entrance, and the service and facilities were excellent with luxury class quality. The spa massage was great with both body fatigue and head fatigue relaxed. The cocktail in the lobby lounge was the best in my life. I heard that Thai food is delicious, so I would like to visit again.
The Westin Miyako Kyoto

Overall, amazing stay at the Miyako Westin Kyoto. Great location (quite central but not in the hectic district of Gion, at the foot of the hills on the east side of the side), stones throw to most restaurants / places of interests. Immediately got upgraded to suite when checking in (Platinum Bonvoy member), great service and hospitality. Suite was beautiful with balcony and great view, 2 member of the reception went up and escorted us to the suite. Food was amazing! Great breakfast spread with Japanese and Western options (the croissants are to die for, probably the best I've ever had!). They also have a Japanese Kaiseki option for a more authentic experience Concierge was super helpful. They managed to book us a table at a 1 michelin star Kaiseki restaurant with one day notice (keep in mind that most places are booked out 1-2 months in advance and the concierge had to call 15+ restaurants to find us a table) There was also an in-house ”Onsen” (Japanese bath house) with over 2000 sqm indoor and outdoor hot pool. Amazing place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. Wonderful stay all in all and a definite stay again for future trips to Kyoto. Highly recommended!

Prime location at Kyoto, few steps away from train and bus station. Not the newest hotel but well maintained facilities, TV could link with Netflix, bravo!

Kawaramachi
I dropped in for breakfast. It's conveniently located in Kawaramachi Sanjo. There is a parking lot across the street, though it is a multi-storey building (luxury and large vehicles can be parked outside). Parking is 500 yen for 2 hours when using the restaurant. Access by car is from Kawaramachi Street. Now, the breakfast buffet was a surprise for me. First of all, the variety was extremely limited. The Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo also had a limited variety, but the price there was around 3000 yen, so I guess that's about right, whereas this was quite a high price of 5000 yen. If the quality is high, it doesn't matter if the variety is not that great, but unfortunately the taste was at the level of a prepared food from a nearby supermarket. Everything was too strong, and so was the tea, which was haphazardly brewed. I tried everything, but the waffle was the only thing that was delicious, even though it was cold (as was the cream that came with it). If you book a plan with meals included, it would be less stressful to stay at the nearby Okura (both in terms of price and service). You can get to the station without getting wet, and the restaurant is always good. If you are looking for a new hotel in the same price range, you will definitely receive more attentive service (including meals) at Dusitani. Well, I don't think I would stay there. It's undeniably very rough. Just look at the layout of the toilet.
