D' Andrea Lagoon All Suites - Adults Only

This is quite simply the best 5 star luxury adult only experience we have had - EVER! (and we have travelled the world including 2 vacations in the Maldives). Kos Airport - really smooth through baggage and customs. The hotel can arrange a private taxi for 45 euro. We opted to queue at the airport and paid 25 euros. We waited for 45 minutes and, on reflection, we should have taken up the hotel's offer. Location - only 20 minute drive from the airport and on the north coast of Kos - between Mastichari and Marmari, D'Andrea Lagoon is one of two exclusive hotels - the other on Rhodes. The D'Andrea is named after the son of the owner. A private beach with ample sunbeds and parasols is a mere 2 minute walk from reception. We chose to rest and relax at the hotel, but we would recommend you walk to the beach for the 8pm sunset - beautiful and romantic. Reception staff were great and they will arrange taxis and trips to Kos Town and the many attractions across the island. When you arrive, or walk to the beach or just get around, staff will always offer to drive you in the hotel golf buggy - even for a 100 foot walk. One of the first things we noticed was that staff are not 'tip-hungry', in-fact one or two turned down tipping. We checked in quite late, had a wonderful dinner and when we walked into our suite we were blown away. The Premium Swim-Up Suite was perfect. The Manager (more on him in a moment) had laid on a bottle of champaign together with fruit and cakes. We stayed in room 501 at the far end of the Lagoon. We woke up every morning to a view across the lagoon pools. The decking had sun all day, moving from right to left above you and we even had our own private sun terrace with a large jacuzzi. Lovely touches included his and hers sun hats, great smelling bathroom products and electric curtains and nets We went half-board (HB) as we don't tend to eat lunch. We signed tabs 'as you go' for drinks throughout the day and evening and purchased a few things in the boutique shop on site. After our 7 days stay, having 6-8 drinks per day, our bill was around 200 euros - pretty good value. One very minor grump - a free single bottle of water was dropped to our room each day. We would normally get through three bottles. At dinner, we were charged for bottled water alongside the other drinks. That said, latte coffee and orange juice was free at breakfast and included in the HB package. Water is such a necessity in the constant 30 degree heat. Perhaps the owners could consider removing the charge for water? Food - just incredible. Breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, breads, yoghurts, cooked choices and chefs cooking up various omelettes. The table configurations are also great, high spec, modern and comfy loungers and settees - you can chose to sit outside, poolside, in the shade, in full sun or inside. Breakfast was from 7.30 to 11am. Evening dinner is served until 9.30pm and the Lagoon-side entertainment is perfect - complimenting the quiet and sty

We had the most amazing stay at D’Andrea Lagoon. From start to finish the staff went above and beyond for us. Our room was immaculate and the housekeeping staff did such a brilliant job every day to make sure we had fresh towels etc. We spent a lot of our time at the private beach which was very relaxing. A special shout out to Denis at the beach bar who was always on hand for anything we needed. Anna at reception was also super accommodating and great for recommendations on restaurants and things to do. Overall, an incredible experience and I have already recommended it was a dream destination to friends and family.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! The hotel is really lovely, rooms are amazing and the staff are super friendly. We stayed in a swim up suite, which was gorgeous. Being able to lounge on your own sun loungers and then just dip in the pool to cool off before heading back to the lounger was idilic. And not to mention having access to your room at all times for anything you need is really handy! We also went down to the private beach area which was also great, the sea was warm (but cool enough to cool you down) and the views over the islands was gorgeous. Food at the hotel was also really good. We did go to other restaurants in Kos town (Cuvée was lovely - and wine served in Riedel glasses) but it’s a good 15-20 mins in a taxi, but not a big deal for us. And Marie was a superb manager, really making sure we were enjoying everything the hotel and area has to offer. It’s one of the few hotels I’d happily go back to.

We had a wonderful stay! And the hospitality was amazing everything perfect here, also thank to Dimitris he was a very pleasant waiter all round perfect. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is extremely relaxing, clean and beautifully designed. Great attention to detail with lots of little things to make your stay extra special. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had with a huge amount of fresh and tasty choices. A big thank you to Dimitris, Kostas and Tetiana who provided first class and friendly service each day at the restaurant/bar/pool - they are a credit to the hotel and were very much appreciated. Thanks also to Anna on reception who dealt with any issues we had professionally and promptly. We can’t wait to visit again.

Great stay, chilled and relaxing vibes. Beautiful room and extremely comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and accommodating, especially Dimitris from the bar! Staff gave great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Would stay here again and would recommend to family and friends!

This hotel is marvellous and we had a wonderful stay here. There is a minor whinge,  but it's small and a personal thing, so I'll leave it to the end. From the moment we arrived to be met with an ever present smile from the lovely Anna,  and a welcome drink, we were treated with the utmost care and attention. All the staff were gloriously friendly, polite and helpful and an absolute credit to the hotel. We were given a free upgrade to one of the pool suites which had me ridiculously excited. The room was spacious and very clean, ( a shout out to the cleaning staff here, who do a great job and I loved the turn down at the end of the day with a sweet message or chocolate.) It was modern yet comfortable (the two don't always go hand in hand) with lots of storage and a good shower.  The free gifts were a very welcome touch and were much appreciated. The balcony and decking area which leads to the pool is clean, spacious and has the most comfortable sun loungers. Being able to just leave your room and pop into the pool outside your window, seems to me to be the height of luxury. The pool itself is stunning. It winds, maze like,  around the perimeter of the site, giving access to all the pool suites. In the middle, like islands, are further comfortable and modern sun loungers. I loved this pool- a real show piece. The breakfast was overwhelmingly good. So much choice to be had; if you don't find something to your liking, you must be very fussy. All the food is fresh and well made. The private beach was indeed that- private. Sandy and clean with calm waters and bean bag sun loungers that were so comfy I regularly fell asleep, this was a perfect way to while away the afternoon. Unlike many hotel private beaches, this one doesn't have you crammed like sardines in a rigid line. You are able to move your seating where you like to be the most comfortable and I didn't feel cramped in any way. I don't think you'll find a better beach on the island. This hotel has everything and thoroughly deserves its 5 stars. We went at the end of October when it was very quiet- I don't know how busy or noisy it gets in the summer, but for us, this was lovely. My only ****** is the music. I always think hotel music should neither offend or intrude and perhaps it's an age thing , but I got heartily sick of listening to music with a beat from 8 in the morning until 11 at night.  The sound is more muted when sitting by your room but if you're in the middle, where the speakers are , there is an incessant beat  which seems discordant to the general , relaxed vibe. Even at breakfast, the music is quite intrusive, I felt. Like I said- this is a personal thing and a younger person might not even notice the music, but I would suggest maybe more ambient music ,at least during the day, that blends into the background. Like I said, it's a personal/age thing and not something that affects my overall rating. To summarise then: A fabulous hotel, modern, elegant and comfortabl
