Atlantica Thalassa Hotel

Stayed here 2 weeks ago, there are prose and cons to the holiday but didn’t spoil the holiday Pros:- the hotel was spotless and the staff were very friendly and helpful, never had a problem getting a sun longer around the pool. The room was basic but very clean and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Towels were changed regularly and the room was cleaned every day. We had a late flight and only got the hotel late but a snack bag had been made up and given to us on arrival which was a nice touch.you do get a fridge in the room but it’s pretty pointless as you don’t get any drinks provided. Cons:- in the room there was 2 plug sockets 1 at 1 side of the bed and the other is on the wall as you go into the bathroom under the light switch, we couldn’t use the 1 under the light switch unless we stood a suite case up to place our phone on top, this was a bit of a pain as there wasn’t a great deal of storage to put your clothes away so we lived out of the cases for a lot of our stuff, the 1 at the side of the bed we used to boil the kettle even though the kettle is on a tray the other side of the room so charging phones and other things was a bit of a pain due to not being in the room for long. The hotel is in the middle of know where and it was a good 35/40 min walk before you even got to the first bar then another 30/40 min walk before you got into Kos town centre. We did get a taxi 1 day an it was 10€ each way which is a little expensive for a 5min drive I think, there is a bus that you can get but the whole time we where there it never turned up. The beach wasn’t very nice and you do get charged 3€ a day for the loungers but there is no bathroom facilities or anywhere to get a drink so we didn’t bother with the beach which is a shame. The food in the hotel was very limited and not a great choice and was cold, they did put a microwave in the dining room why we was there due to that many complaints be made. If you go for lunch or dinner later than the opening time you may find there is nothing for you to eat as we found out most nights. The pool bar and the evening bar tended to only had 1 members of staff on all day so as you can imagine you did have to waits a while to get a drink especially if people where ordering 2 or 3 cocktails. We had 2 small bottles of water provided in the room on arrival but the water machine to fill the empty bottle up was never plugged in so we had to go to the shop in the hotel and buy a bottle of water every day. It’s missing the self serve soft drinks and coffee machines to free up the bar for people wanting alcohol. Overall we had a nice stay for what we paid as it was a last minute deal but I wouldn’t of liked to have paid anymore for the holiday as you wouldn’t feel like you had your money’s worth

JUST COME BACK IN MAY 2024 FROM THIS HOTEL WHAT A NIGHTMARE.ARRIVED AT 12.30 AFTER TRAVELLING 8 HOURS.ONLY TO FIND DOOR WOULDNT LOCK FROM INSIDE.NO LIGHTS ON IN ROOM/MY HUSBAND MANANGER/AND MAINTENCE MAN COULDNT GET IT TO LOCK.EVENTUALLY GOT IT TO WORK 3.30 IN MORNING.THE ROOM WAS A STUDIO SIZE ROOM/CLEAN/THE BALCONY WAS VERY SMALL LOOKING OVER GUEST SO CLOSE IN BALCONY EYE TO EYE VERY CLOSE.NO LIFTS NO PORTERS TO HELP WITH YOUR LUGGAGE.COMPLETE NIGHTMARE.ASKED TO BE MOVED/AND THE DESK MANANGER VERY NICE WOMEN MOVED US TO BIGGER ROOM .THE NEXT ROOM BETTER VIEW BETTER LANDSCAPE.FIELDS.THE ROOM VERY CLEAN.THE FRIDGE THE WATER TRY WAS LEAKING.HAD TO MOVED ALL OUR LUGGAGE UP FLIGHTS OF STAIRS AGAIN NO PORTERS NO HELP FROM STAFF.THE ROOM BETTER.BEDDING VERY DATED AND FADDED NOT A WOW FACTOR.MY HUSBAND SAT ON CHAIR ON THE BALCONY AND THE WHOLE CHAIR COLAPSED AND HES NOT BIG SO HAD TO TAKE OUTSIDE.POOR DESIGN CHAIRS NOT SAFE,PLASTIC JUST COLLASPED ON SEATING VERY VERY POOR.AND NOT SAFE.LOCATION APPALLING IT WOULD OF COST US 250 POUNDS EXTRA FOR 2 WEEKS JUST ON TAXI FARE NO BUSSES OUT SIDE DIDNT TURN UP.SO DONT EXSPECT BUSSES FOR TRANSPORT JUST DIDNT TURN UP.APPALING LOCATION/OUT IN THE STICKS IF YOU DONT DRIVE/OR GET BIKES.NOT FOR YOU /NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED.WALKING 2 HOURS SLOW PACE TO NEARBY PLACES IE AMMENITIES.THE GOOD POINTS FOOD THE BEST/STAFF EXCELLENT/CLEAN BUT OUT DATED BEDDING/THE STAFF WAS THE BEST TRYING TO DO GOOD JOB/IN ADVERSE CIRCUMSTANCES AVENTUALLY TUI MOVED US.THANKYOU STAFF.

Having just come home from a 7 night/8 day stay at this hotel. In short I wouldn’t recommend it. Firstly the negatives; For a family hotel it was very noisy, music on till 11:30 most nights. Bottom floor room and can hear chairs/ furniture being dragged in rooms above- sounds like they’re actually being moved in your own room that’s how loud they are. Rooms very basic with no drawers. Clean but basic. All inclusive but you have to purchase water bottles from the mini market? So I can get unlimited alcohol but not water! Stated there was a kids club but there definitely wasn’t. Kids play room was a mess, about 8/9 wasps on the floor near the door due to a spilled drink and ants on the carpets attracted to the crumbs, also the paints and pens where unusable, ping pong ball lost immediately. Dried and unusable pens and paints. When speaking to staff it’s not their responsibility to clean it or ensure it’s got replenished colours/ paints. Food is very basic at best, not many fruit options - grapefruit, oranges, lemon and apples. My daughter and I ate chips and pizza on the nights we ate in. We opted to eat out often due to the severe lack of variety. And when there was ‘variety’ it consisted of veal liver? Staff smashed a glass and I had to get up and sweep it due to her not having the urgency regardless of the amount of people unknowingly walking over it. To then be told off by said staff member for cleaning up her mess. There was a problem with the children’s pool, nearly every child that played in there came out with cuts on their feet. The manager was immediately on the case which was great to see - he’s a great man. But unfortunately the issue wasn’t solved, after 2 days of not using the pool, my daughter came out with fresh cuts and grazes on her feet and knees from being in there. There’s a problem with over crowing of inflatables, probably best to try time it, as the adult pool wasn’t swimmable when 10 kids have all got adult sized inflatables in there! Lastly the biggest and most severe issue for us was security. Someone entered our room twice on our second to last day. At 7:30am which was too early for housekeeping - housekeeping didn’t come to our room until 11am at the earliest, daily. The first time they entered it woke me up, they immediately shut the door. The second time they entered less than 5 minutes later, they were greeted by my confused self in the hallway, and closed the door again. This is a huge security issue which I took straight to the reception to be told it was housekeeping. Regardless of the person not being in the housekeeping uniform. I was deeply unsettled by this with having a child in the room with us. I took this higher to the Tui rep and I’m still yet to hear back as I am certain this was not housekeeping ‘refreshing a room for a new family to arrive to’ which they’d opened the wrong room. I’m not sure why they’d open the door twice to a room which was clearly inhabited, full of belongings and had

This is great hotel for families and people who want to escape the world and relax. The hotel is clean the staff are lovely. The beach across the road is nice but rocky so take the beach shoes. Clean beach towels whenever you need so do not need to pack them. The food was nice repetitive in the main reception. The bar snacks were lovely. The cocktails/ mocktails were nice. You need a car or some transport of you are exploring rather than relaxing. We hired one for 30 euros a day. So many nice places to explore on the island.

We booked this hotel last minute for a quick 4 night break at a great price Hotel itself is lovely and clean and well set out Rooms again very clean with a nice balcony overlooking the pool area As for food cannot really comment on the evening food as we ventured out into lambi or Kos Town every night as there is some great local restaurants around but the food at breakfast and lunch was very good with plenty of choice and freshly cooked my only very small gripe would be I would have liked to have been able to get a latte or cappuccino out of the coffee machine at breakfast but that’s me being fussy The drink selection was fine at the pool bar in the day and the lobby bar in the evening when we were waiting for our taxi to pick us up Beach is a short walk away and again very nice The location is a little out of the way guessing a couple of miles to lambi and another mile into Kos Town we hired bikes in lambi ( turn left at the big supermarket and on left hand side of road 4 euros per day) but used taxis in the evening 10 euros to Kos Town and 8 8 euros to lambi which hotel reception booked for us There is a bus stop outside the hotel but is very limited service this may change as the season progresses What make this hotel is the staff all very friendly and helpful I would like to give special praise to reception staff and illana and Marela apologies if I’ve spelt names wrong in the pool bar and lobby bar who work so hard keeping up with drinks orders also the 3 daytime entertainment staff who are very friendly Overall we had a great time at this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to book again Couple of little tips if you do go out into lambi efkalipity taverna serves lovely traditional Greek food with amazing staff and delon pub is a nice place to have drink with a wonderful owner also if you like sport he will put anything on the large tv

What can I say. We wasn't expecting much but we was extremely happy with all aspects of the hotel . Staff . Food. The management was always on hand and very polite. We have 3 days left and enjoyed every part of our holiday. Chris the young bar barman was very polite nothing 2 much trouble. All in all we recommend this hotel. Dave and Lisa ..129.

Absolutely fantastic week at this hotel. We arrived late but were checked in with relative ease, by the welcoming and professional reception staff, also given a packed meal as we had missed main dinner service. Food was brilliant as all inclusives go, great variety of choice something for everyone. Staff were great, special mention for Ria from the entertainment team, really went out of her way to make sure we all felt welcome. One thing I think could improve this place, set up a beach bar!

Just returned from a fabulous 11 night holiday here. The staff are amazing, everyone from the reception, the cleaner, bar staff and restaurant were friendly hardworking and helpful. Special shout out to Ria and David who definitely helped keep two teenagers entertained, Ria with her Zumba, aqua and dancing and David with his participation in their TikToks. Could do with a self service drinks machine at the pool bar to help the bar staff out and more seating available in the main bar for an evening but really couldn’t fault much else. Bus to Kos town €2 there €1.50 back is probably your best bet to get out and about as the taxis are very hit and miss but all in all a lovely small hotel would definitely recommend, will miss the sunsets and cocktails

We had a brilliant stay at the Thalassa Hotel! It was the start of the season so not many kids (bonus for us), a complete range of ages & groups. Twin rooms are comfortable, clean and have everything you need. The bathroom is compact but functional. We asked in advance for a top floor room and very pleased to say the hotel did this for us. One thing I would say is that the doors are not great, the noise from doors slamming and people having conversations in the corridor was disturbing. The pool and sunbathing areas were great, we could always get a sunbed no matter what time of day whether it was around the pool or on the grassy area. Free & available sunbeds on the hotel beach were a very welcome bonus, the beach is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Very rocky though, I'd recommend beach shoes if you want to go in the water. A really good selection of food and drinks (8+ cocktails to choose from). The restaurant had a very good mix of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner with different foods to try each lunch & dinnertime. We could always find something new to try, the Greek classics such as Souvaki, Gyros and Moussaka were very nice! The entertainment staff tried their best to get people involved but as it was early season, they didn't get much participation. The nearest bar is about 35 minute walk on the edge of Lambi, it wasn't too hot at this time of year, but in peak summer, the number 2 bus is only 2 euro and I'd recommend getting it into Kos Town for a day / night out. The walk along the water on the beach to Lambi is lovely too. A great stay, we'd recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing beach holiday with an all inclusive bonus, and a town a little walk away.
