I visited the area for training with my local company, which is headquartered in the vicinity. The property is a family-run combination hotel, restaurant, and bistro. The bistro: I was able to try a majority of foods (multiple meals) from the spring menu, which ranged from local Schwabian Deutsch entrees to other classic entrees. All items were expertly prepared with excellent flavor, friendly staff, and "welcoming" atmosphere. The hotel: My room featured a comfortable bed, work desk, tv, Nespresso coffee maker, sitting area with table and two chairs, and distant view of some of the Schwabian alps (on clear days). The breakfast: the breakfast was buffet-style, and included eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, local cheeses, brotchen, muesli, yogurt, and additional bakery items. It quickly became the highlight of my mornings. The area: Köngen is a rolling hill town with excellent areas to walk. Near to the hotel is a small plaza with supermarket, kabob house, bakery, ice cream, pharmacy, bank, and other restaurants as well. Overall impressions: the staff was very welcoming. I had an issue where the airlines permanently lost my luggage. The entire team helped by suggestions, as well as proactively watching for my luggage to arrive. Overall: great!
