High Point World Resort

As a frequent last minute timeshare traveler, I have sampled nearly all the Orlando area has to offer that show 3 stars or better on common review platforms. Booked this place through RCI, which warns to call if you are going to be checking in late. I called four times, no answer, left a message no call back. Arrived a day after check in and spent the next 30 minutes proving I booked a two bedroom. The Pro's: It has a hot tub and the pool, it's quiet and the pool is open late. Very close to Animal Kingdom's gate. The WiFi is decent enough to use for access. Everything in the unit worked. The Con's; I left Vacation Villages because the bed was terrible. I've moved to worse, plastic wrap around the mattress is really what I want to be hearing any time I move. Small sugar ants are all over the kitchen counter on check in, under the chopping block, coffee maker, etc. The pictures of the place are all from the lobby, the couch, the TV, the bar setup, etc. The entire unit is straight out of 1980, appliances and all. No washier and dryer in unit, no oversize tub. It feels like at any moment in time someone is gonna come busting in asking where the ***** or money is. That isn't because I took some or have any either. The staff were nice and all but this is basically like the motel 6 version of timeshares to stay in.

We had a great stay at the High Point World Resort. The previous reviews regarding how outdated things are are accurate but for us, while we are on vacation, we just wanted a clean place to take showers and sleep. We don't spend a lot of time in our room and the color of the carpet isn't a consideration. We felt like the rooms were clean and everything was fully stocked. Air conditioner worked great and we had no issues with the facility. The one thing to consider is that it is absolute murder trying to get out on 192 during certain parts of the day and you can only turn right. The traffic in that area is crazy but that is no fault of the the resort at all. We would stay here again for sure.

Condo was a bit small but well maintained. Clean but older, lacking in some amenities. Getting in and out of property was tricky having to backtrack or U turn to turn into street.

Place is a ghost town! I asked why the hot tub was closed they said the weather. I went to turn it on today and it won’t even come on and it’s full of debris. The dishes are outdated and everything sticks in them. This whole place is just outdated never stay here again

The refrigerator was acting up and the maintenance man came immediately and fixed it. The 2 left burners on the stove were not working. I told them it was not necessary to fix it until we checked out.

We enjoyed our stay at his resort. Heavy traffic on the main highway, but it was the beginning of spring break, don't know if it is always this heavy. Resort was clean, well maintained, pool was nice. Would stay agaiin.

I stayed at HP for 5 nights on a recent stay. Rooms look like a converted hotel room that is very dated. That said rooms are clean, huge and have large kitchens that are fully stocked. Bathrooms full of soft absorbent towels. Room smells odd, like stale air and there was dust on the ceiling from the ventilation system. I think that is why I got sick with some respiratory illness. It is now more than a week since I have been back home and I am still trying to kick this respiratory nastiness. For that reason, I won't be booking again. The pool is huge and chilly although it is heated. The jacuzzi is large and nice too. Temperature is warm, but not super hot. Adequate for warmth through. Front desk people are friendly and you can rent DVDs and VHS. DVD player is in the the room. Overall I enjoyed my stay, but like I said I think I got sick from the room.

An okay place if you don’t want to be in Orlando, but close to Disney. The resort needs a lot of updates, the space for a two bedroom was nice. If you’re not looking to be in the room for very long like top just sleep only then a good spot but to actually spend family time inside wouldn’t recommend this place. Bathroom in the one bedroom is very small, the shower/tub is small as well.

We enjoyed our visit here. Condo was a great size, clean and bug free. Staff is beyond amazing and friendly. My only suggestion is a bit of updating is needed, like get rid of carpets cuz they are stained, but it did not hinder our stay at all. Beds are very hard but they do offer an egg crate mat. My husband was fine with them so it’s just a preference thing.
