The traditional ryokan was very charming and perfectly alluring. The decor of traditional artifacts of the Edo period gave a pleasant insights to a former opulence. The inside and outside onsens were clean with a clear zen and ambiance. How I love the traditional kimono-styled house clothes offering a comfortable restorative relaxing dress code.

We stayed for one night during our 3-day walk on the Nakasendo Trail. Comfortable option, friendly service, in-house onsen (not massive size but partly outside), good food (copious dinner and breakfast), choice of Japanese or western bedding. It was busy with others trekkers and day tourists when we stayed. The town of Kiso Fukushima is a good option for a halt on the trail (some sightseeing to do, lovely setting along the river, several options for dinner, train station...)

Stayed two nights in the midst of a Nakasendo walk. The hotel is central, relaxed and very comfortable. Food is excellent, focussing on local specialities. The staff are a delight - very considerate and keen to talk, offering helpful suggestions for the locality.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to walk the Nakasendo Way. It’s a typical Japanese ryokan serving a Japanese style dinner and breakfast. The staff are very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure 2 fussy gaijin who don’t eat fish, tofu or egg had enough to eat!!

Stayed here 3 nights. Had room with private Onsen on the balcony which was a big bonus. The room itself is sp****, as would expect. Futon bed put out on an evening. Chair is effectively on the floor. The bathroom like would get on a yacht. Food is whatever is served which my wife found challenging although they did their best to cater for her as a vegetarian. They helpfully booked us an Italian restaurant for one night. Also were v helpful arranging car hire for the day. All in all recommend but be aware it’s not a Western experience. Many guests dressing accordingly in clothes provided

I spent only one night here but it was great. It was ina good location. A lovely entrance foyer. My room was basic, but a lovely view of the river. I had dinner and breakfast and both were Japanese - and very tasty. I was particularly impressed with the dinner! I was given good information on local sights and transport options. I could leave my bag after check out while I took a walk around the place.

あたたかなおもてなしの宿で、大満足。温泉は、20℃と低いが、なぜか温まります。そして、夜ご飯大満足です。おしゃれでボリューミー！外国の方には、流暢な英語で説明する宿のかたすごい！日本のおもてなしの鏡です！

街道に面した部屋で夜は静かで人通りのない街道を眺めてタイムスリップしたようでした。時季外れに泊まったのかひっそりとしており、静かにゆっくり宿場町を楽しみました。お風呂のない部屋でしたが立派な大浴場があるので問題なかったです。大浴場は川沿いの露天風呂もあり満足でした。部屋は清潔で広かったです。建物は古いのでしょうがしっかりリノベーションされており古さは感じませんでした。夕食、朝食ともに木曽路を感じられる美味しいものでした。満足の滞在でした。

街道浪漫おん宿蔦屋（かいどうろまんおんやどつたや）は、長野県木曽郡木曽町福島（ながのけんきそぐんきそまちふくしま）にあるホテルだ。 2021年7月7日、この日は奈良井宿を観光してきた。 駐車場は入り口の隣の空き地を利用した。 入るとすぐに、囲炉裏がある。 ここでウエルカムドリンクのサービスを受けられる。 ロビーはこぢんまりしているが、なかなかきれいだ。 土産物の販売もしている。 鎧兜を展示してあった。 自分のサイズの浴衣を取って部屋に持ち込むスタイル。 この日は4階の部屋になった。 既に布団は敷かれていた。 この日は素泊まりプラン。 窓の下は、木曽川が流れる。 冷蔵庫。 冷えたコップが入っているのは、嬉しい。 エアコン。 テレビと金庫。 クローゼットに入浴セットがかごに入っていた。 たぶん使わないけど、風呂もある。 トイレは温水便座。 少し休憩してから、福島の街歩きに出かけた。 橋の上から、街道浪漫おん宿蔦屋の部屋が見える。 川が見える、最上階のいい部屋を用意してくれていた。 コロナのおかげ？ 散歩から戻り、入り口の囲炉裏でウエルカムドリンクをいただくことにした。 撮影する前に、お菓子を食べてしまっていた(汗；) 素泊まりなので、部屋でコンビニ飯（苦笑） 翌2021年7月8日、この日は雨。 朝食は、セブンイレブンで買ってきたサンドイッチとバナナ、サラダ。 チェックアウトし、先に進んだ。
