We stayed at the Steigenberger for one night. The hotel is nice and conveniently located opposite Terminal 28. It also close to the city centre. The buffet breakfast was very good. However, there was only a bottle of water in the mini-bar. The weather was quite hot and there was not ventilation unfortunately.

The rooms and bathrooms are as new. Unfortunately, the condition of the bathroom was unsatisfactory, with limescale deposits in the shower under the toilet, and a slight smell of urine in the air. I got 89 euros at the reception for 67 euros through the app, which is related to my high standards. In addition, there is a breakfast that should be charged 15 euros. I personally think that these two breakfasts are too much. Personally, I will go on a business trip and sleep here again, but privately, I may not necessarily spend my vacation there.

Hotel was in chaos when we arrived. Staffing issue with the room cleaners, only one on duty. The reception area was full of guests waiting for their rooms. We eventually got into ours at 18.30 that night. The reception staff were doing their best to keep the guests happy, They were working really hard and were terribly stressed.. Caroline in particular did an amazing job. Our room, when we got into it, was comfortable and reasonably clean. Location is very good, close to the harbour and station. Breakfast was very busy but there was plenty of choice of food and again the catering staff were working very hard. I had the impression that there are some management issues at the hotel. I felt sorry for the staff that were obviously doing their best but needed more support. Having said that it was a good stay for us and Kiel was an interesting and surprisingly lovely place to visit.

A very new, modern hotel directly opposite of Kiel's main train station, and therefore also close to the Scandinavian ferries. My room was spotless, with a nice minibar and coffee machine. It was also quiet (facing the courtyard/ city). Good breakfast, though the seating was a bit... well, not cramped, but I would have appreciated more small tables for 1-2 persons. Overall a very good and relaxing experience, still.

Ein hundefreundliches Hotel mit sehr schönen Zimmern, direkt an einem Park mit Hunde-Auslaufzone. Das Restaurant und die Bar sind wunderschön eingerichtet und besonders das Restaurant- und Bar-Personal war sehr herzlich und freundlich. Nicht so nordisch-steif, wie man es von manchen hochpreisigen Hotels kennt. Wir fanden das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr angemessen. Das Frühstück ist ausgewählt üppig, mit vielen kleinen, ungewöhnlichen Leckereien (kaltgebeizter Lachs, Himbeer-Buttermilch...) und jeden Morgen anders. Die Terrasse mit Blick in den Park und auf einen kleinen Teil der Förder ist einfach ein Traum. Die Weinauswahl ist sehr gut und die Preise für Wein und Menü angemessen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

After a 12-day cruise, we wanted to make the holiday expire in Kiel for two days and have booked a room in advance ... I was allowed to conduct a very friendly telephone call and we were offered a great room.
