Cape Arundel Inn and Resort

I read a few negative reviews after we booked a King room for 2 days and a Suite for 3 days at the Clubhouse. I was very pleasantly surprised and happy with the clubhouse rooms. It is NOT a modern Hotel style room. If that is what you are looking for, check into a chain hotel. These rooms furnishings were in keeping with the style and period look of Cape Arundel Inn. They were clean and comfortable. The Club house was a very short drive or walk from the Main Inn. Our rooms were behind the clubhouse. It was lovely, peaceful and quiet set amongst the woods, in a residential neighborhood. We had full access to the Inn and Dining (spectacular views from the dining room). They offered wine and cheese every afternoon. You could relax on the porch, by the pool, pool table or by the fireplace. They did have Portable A/C units in everyroom and during the high heat of summer, maybe a problem as they are a bit noisy. We visited Mid-October and the weather was perfect. No a/c required. The staff was very freindly, helpful and accomodating. My only negative is that I would have felt a little safer if the front doors to clubhouse were locked to only guests and staff, since there is no-one on duty at night. We had a lovely stay! I would highly recommend Cape Arundel Inn to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet and relaxing stay.

We chose the Inn for its ocean front views, cozy room, porch, tranquility and reviews. So appreciated our honeymoon upgrade to one of their 5 large ocean front suites located just next to the Inn. Lovely linens, robes, comfy king bed, fireplace and flatscreen tv made it comfortable. We enjoyed the large chairs taking in the lawn and ocean views and the gift of champagne waiting for us. Clean and welcoming, our room also offered a fridge, complimentary waters and bar amenities too. It was quiet and loved the heated marble bathroom floor too. Loved the complimentary bikes we'd ride into town to explore as well as to the Inn's Clubhouse a few streets away with lovely pool area. Concierge Albert was amazing reserving us a hard to get reservation at Earth as well the Inn's renown Ocean Restaurant with impeccable service, yummy food and beautiful views for both dinner and breakfast. Manager Sherlin was exceptional even shipping back luggage we had ordered that arrived after we departed. The staff go above and beyond.. Overall a truly lovely stay just a bit up the road from Kennebunkport. We enjoyed the quiet proximity away from the crowds, best views and the quaint peacefulness of all the Inn offered. Will certainly return.

Hi! This is our 2nd time staying at Cape Arundel. The location is gorgeous but be very careful which room you book. We very extremely disappointed with the Ocean Bluff Suite. It’s located on top of the laundry shed in the parking lot. To call it a luxury suite is an extreme exaggeration. Each morning around 5am we were awoken by the staff and vehicles using the mechanical and laundry facilities below. This is grossly unfair to the guests staying in this room for top dollar. The only rooms to stay in are in the main house. Even then the hotel could provide some little touches to make you feel not so penny pinched (fruit, snacks, coffee, etc). The setting is gorgeous but that’s about it for me.
