I am on the tail end of an 18-night stay at the Lakhey Hotel in Kathmandu, and I can honestly say that it has been WONDERFUL. I've gotten to know many of the staff, and they all are warm, friendly, and gracious. The hotel has only been open for a couple of months, and it is spotlessly clean, kept that way in part by one of the hardest working housekeepers, Sumitra, that I have ever seen. The staff head, Rajesh, and his assistants, Raj Kumar and Ram, who also multitask with cooking, greet me every morning with a warm welcoming. They all will make you feel like you are part of their family. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, off a busy street, and conveniently located near the touristy Thamel area. The rooms are spotlessly clean, modern, rather upscale, but very economical. The hotel does not have a restaurant but provides a GREAT breakfast that is way beyond what they call a ”continental breakfast” that one would get in America. Freshly cooked to each guest, it includes eggs however you like them (I loved the omelet!), freshly cut fruit, veggies, potatoes, toast with butter & jam, juice, & coffee or tea. And there is a restaurant right next door for other meals. I had never stayed at the Lakhey Hotel before, but I can highly recommend it, and I will surely return in the future. The staff service was great. It was caring everywhere and friendly. However, the water was dirty anyway! In Nepal, the hotel with a bathtub is valuable, so I stayed here to check the facilities and think I can take a bath in the bathtub, but it was a pity that I couldn't do it. It is true that water is often yellow in Nepal, but it was the first time that such blue and black water came out. I was a little scared when I thought I was taking a shower or washing my face with this water. When I asked the hotel, I was disappointed by the manager's reply that the tank was broken, and there was no apology or compensation for it. The breakfast was delicious, but the variety was small and the bread was hard.

Very clean hotel, the food also nice. Very good location as if you stay in the Center of the town, it gonna be very noisy start from 3am for the whole day. Here you won’t be waken by the traffic and walkable distance to those shopping area.

Overall good hotel, place is not the noiziest in Thamel,.but for this price you get very nice place to stay it. Around lots of shops and infrastructure (yoga, spa, etc). Good if you need a place for a couple of days. If longer Id prefer not to stay in Thamel. You can ask to clean, take out trash and change beds.

It's a bit far from the airport to walk and too close to take a taxi, but I took a taxi for 300 rupees. They say it's a new building, but I'm not sure. The shower room is somewhat narrow. However, the bedding was so comfortable that I slept well. It's great because you can order and eat breakfast at any time that's convenient for you. The staff are friendly and great. It's small but great for the price I plan to use this place every time I come to Nepal.

We stayed at Hotel Atlantic in December and had a very comfortable stay. The Location is very good because its in a more quiet place but still in Thamel. The Breakfast is also nice and freshly made. We booked a Trek with them and it was amazing. The Rooms are clean and there is hot water. Overall we had a really nice stay at the Hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Things that I appreciate: - The hotel manager was very helpful in finalizing my itinerary and booking transportation for me every day. This meant saving rupees versus hailing taxis myself. - The hotel’s location is very near the center of Thamel which makes it effortless to look for food and souvenirs. - I was here on from Dec 29 to Jan 2 and, while Thamel is very busy for the NY Countdown, the street where the hotel is located is relatively quiet. - On my Day 1, I almost missed my free breakfast buffet due to oversleeping. They called me at 9:00 AM (30 mins before closing of the buffet) to check if I really meant to skip my breakfast. - The room is decent and big enough for its price. Things that I believe can be improved: - Breakfast buffet is plain and limited in terms of variety. - Not applicable to me because I want to DIY everything, but thinking maybe it would be helpful to other guests is would have city tour packages offered in the front desk.

The hotel is in the lane, not too easy to find, but very quiet. The quilt looked unwashed and was of poor quality. Tickets for this hotel are not cheap. Because we had to leave early, the front desk prepared a packed breakfast for us. Each person had two cold eggs and two slices of cold bread. Hotel WIFI is poor.

the best place to stay in kathmandu.the price are reasonable and the best part is the people like rajendra and people working there who always goes out of the way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. i have always enjoyed my stay here and never been disappointed. regards nasib

The impeccable service and hospitality of your staff made our retreat most enjoyable. We were very impressed by the responsiveness of you and your staff from the planing stage till the end of our retreat. What is most commendable is that numerous request were all but acceded.
