I was staying in Kassel for a couple nights to visit a friend and from the reviews, photos and price, this hostel looks perfect. I was arriving in the late-evening so I was a little worried on how to check-in as the reception desk would have been closed. However, I spoke with Maria on the phone who gave me clear instructions of how to firstly get to the hostel from Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe (the number 4 tram) and where to find my keys. The whole process was made very easily and it immediately felt very homely. The rooms were on the first floor and when I entered, the sheets and towel were waiting for me on the bed. Maria had also let me know that there would be two other people in the same room as me which was a nice detail to know. I made my bed and went to shower and brush my teeth. The bathroom was on the corridor and was immaculate. There are separate male and female bathrooms and was kept very clean with plenty of facilities. I had a hot shower before getting ready to sleep. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. I was up the next morning early to explore Kassel which at first look, I didn't expect to have so much. I would recommend getting the tram or bus as the walk was around 40 minutes to the main station and around 40 minutes to the city centre. My friend and I drove to the Hercules monument which was incredible. You could see the whole city and we walked around these grounds. It's great to spend a couple of hours here. We headed into the city where there was a lot of shops and some great food options! We chose Peter Pane which had some great vegetarian and veggie options. I headed back to the hostel which had a great buzz around it. All the staff were amazingly helpful. Jessie and Maria were fantastic, and with checkout at 11am, I had plenty of time to relax and pack my things in the morning. I will definitely recommend and will be staying here again! Thanks a bunch, Arnie
