Hollywood Group of Houseboat - Dal Lake

It had many plus points. Great view, big deck, decent service from moosa. Very enjoyable trip. Special mention to the tea made by moosa. Very clean room and bathrooms.

The ambience of the hb is superb. The view of himalayan range is great. They do promisr something which they could not keep. We were assured of airport pickup but on same day we were informed that they cannot arrange pickup. There will be no shikara waiting for u at gate 12. There will be a utter chaos of shikara. The food served in good but as per the cost. Better u take food from outside. Washroom cistern not working properly, hand jet not working properly. Proper drainage not present. In bath area.

Hb Hollywood is a highly overrated place, including the experience of staying in a houseboat. While it may be worthwhile to stay for one night for a unique experience, staying for more than that is not recommended due to several limitations. During our three-night stay, we faced numerous challenges, including the lack of hot water for bathing and difficulty finding a shikhara for transportation. Breakfast only consists of one item, either poha or upma and bread with butter, while dinner is not worth the cost at rs. 400 per head. It's best to eat at nathu's or delhi d rasoi in front of ghat no:11 instead. It's also advisable to avoid booking a shikara ride through the houseboat owners as they tend to overcharge. Bargaining near the ghat is a better option and a shikara ride for approximately rs. 200 per person can be easily obtained. We had a terrible experience with the owner of hb Hollywood, who overcharged us rs. 30, 000 for a cab booking that should have cost only rs. 16, 000. He presents himself as a helpful person who can protect you from the city's crooks, but in reality, he is the real crook. The standard daily rental for an suv in srinagar is around rs. 4, 000 to 5, 000, and anyone charging more than that is simply trying to loot you. Also, paying anything above 3000/night for this houseboat is not worthy at all.

Horrible as the night passed, we booked seeing 4 stars but deserves 1 star. There was a heater in the room, but it would be charged separately. Mattress and quilt smelly, overused. Think how one can sleep in the snow fall night without heater and electric blanket. After saying many times the inverter light was on and the food was very bad for 2000 rupees i wish we had not stayed at boat house boat house proved to be a black spot in our wonderful trip to kashmir.

Ishfaq bhai was very cordial and accommodating. Houseboat is nice with all essentials in place. Food was simple but yummy. Can be a very good experience for a group of friends.

Isfaq bhai was very humble and kind. He helped us in all possible ways to arrange all things. Staying at hb hollywood was a great experience.

The host ishfaq bhai was amazing as he is very friendly and treats his guests very nicely. Even before coming to houseboat he called us so that we reached airport safely. From the airport pickup till our whole vacation he unsure d that we did not face any problem. Food cooked at houseboat is also very amazing and tasty. He made sure shikara ride was done in the evening with the right cost. Anyone coming to kashmir and staying at houseboat, i would really recommend hollywood houseboat to stay mainly due to isfaq. Cab and our other visits at gulmarg and pahalgam was also ensured by isfaq that it is smooth. Thanks a lot holly houseboat for an amazing experience.
