I would not hesitate to recommend this treasure of a hotel . This is our fifth visit and we have never been disappointed. I would definitely rate it five star in terms of location, food and service. Claudia and Gerhard Lehmann are the most generous and hospitable hosts you could wish for. So friendly and accommodating. The whole team are amazing and a special thanks to Claudia on the front desk who is incredibly helpful and kind. The views from our room and the accessibility to many wonderful walks and rail travel right from the hotel makes this a very special place indeed. We cannot wait to return for visit number six! ❤️

Beautiful original hotel in the heart of Switzerland, excellent food, nice hosts and friendly staff, spacious rooms with a view of the surrounding mountains. Perfect for a short stopover (like ours, on the way back from Italy) or for a longer stay.

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel probably has the best view in Kandersteg. The room was excellent and the hospitality from Gerhard, Claudia and Alexander was outstanding, Both the breakfast and evening meals were fantastic. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the railway station and only 3 minutes from supermarkets. Kandersteg has amazing walks. Oeschinensee, Gasternal, Blausee, Gemni Pass, Lotschental Valley all have fantastic scenery. Kandersteg is not as well known as other Swiss resorts but certainly has much to offer.

This is second stay for us at Hotel Bernerhof, our first summertime stay and we loved it. The area around the hotel is full of waterfalls and great views. The staff is wonderful and makes our family feel welcomed. They take care of all our needs and the food is amazing. This hotel has become our second home when we are in Switzerland. Our sons participate in Scout Camp near by and this hotel is a perfect stay for parents.

Fantastic stay at the Hotel Bernerhof Kandersteg The hotel is in a great location in the village, only a few minutes walk from the train station and supermarket The rooms are clean and comfortable and our room had a lovely view down the valley to the mountains. It was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by The food is amazing! I requested vegan meals in advance before staying at the hotel and could not have been more impressed. They were all of excellent quality and presentation and every night of my stay was always something different and so tasty! The staff are great - from Yvonne in the dining room at breakfast, Alexander our attentive waiter in the evenings to Claudia at reception with her wealth of knowledge Finally to the owners of the hotel - Claudia and Gerhart. They could not be more welcoming and friendly and were always happy to assist. It is clear that they are very proud of their hotel as they should be, it was definitely a five star stay for us

A really wonderful place to stay in picturesque Kandersteg. The owners are very hands on to make sure your stay is very special. Great location, delicious food (very aware of gluten free needs) and excellent service from all the friendly staff. Lovely room with a balcony and mountain views all around the hotel. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Bernerhof if you want a first class stay in Kandersteg.

We were greeted very warmly and that set the tone for our stay. The hotel was clean, warm, fantastically located 3 minutes from the train/bus station. The pillows were soft and we really couldn’t fault the place. Breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommend if staying in Interlaken.

The hotel is very well located, is very comfortable and clean, the food is great and the best of all is the amazing service they have. They were very helpful during our stay, our dog was attacked by other during a hike and the hotel offer to transport us to the veterinary and were extremely helpful during the rest of our stay, thank you very much to the whole staff we will definitely be back.
