Sun Palace Hotel

1st thing a few little changes and this hotel could be so much better.. Just finishing up a trip here for 10 days as a family of 8. 5 adults and 3 child ege 15, 13 and 12... only thing I can say is standard overall, main swimming pool was not cleaned in the 10 days we were there you couldn't seen past the 2nd step they did put chlorine in and use a net but it needed more than that.. the hotel is too small for the amount of guest to the point guests were sitting on sun loungers and standing on the path to watch the entertainment in the evening. Entertainment stage is way to small and low to actually see and enjoy what is being shown. Food just seemed to be the same everynight with only a few things changing evernight just make sure its cooked properly (meat) also vegetarian food its always meat free so make sure to vheck this. Onsite water park was ok for a few days just felt very Repetitive. Would definitely recommend the local waterpark that was a very good day out and the water sports at the beach even tho they cost of course it was definitely worth doing. Staff were very nice within the resort definitely not complaining there. Cleaning of the room was standard even thought they didn't seem to touch things on the floor they just cleaned around them which didn't really bother me as it showed they didn't want to touch my stuff. I can't say this was the worst holiday ever just could of been alot better.. I definitely recommend Sofia's across the road for all your needs from Souvenirs to day trips absolutely amazing family

It just hit 3 star. Let me run through the pros Excellent kids entertainment team Clean but basic rooms Good pools Excellent all inclusive drinks (actually get drunk off them!) The issue? The food!!! Without doubt the worst food I've ever eaten! It's a 0 out of 10. The Apollo buffet hall is a disgrace. Poor selection and all vile. Anyone who says otherwise must work here! It's worse than hospital food. The Al a carte restaurants are just as bad. I would return to Rhodes but not here.

From reading the negative reviews I didn’t have much love for this holiday going. I’ve just returned from a week with my husband and two children (5&7) It wasn’t as bad as I was dreading. Water park amazing, never struggled for a sun bed. Never used the main pool. Went to the beach once which is across the road and that was lovely, £20 for two sun beds and an umbrella. We also hired a car £55 for the day. We drove to butterfly valley and farma zoo. Would definitely this. It was an easy 30 minutes to the butterfly valley and the zoo was literally next door (3 minutes drive) best zoo me and my family have been to. There was always plenty of food and a good choice. We all found sometimes nice to eat. Would definitely book the Greek restaurant. Was gorgeous, also the burger restaurant is lovely. You don’t book that, it’s open 12pm-4pm. Ice cream stands were always full and it’s help yourself which my two children absolutely loved. If you’re going to this hotel my best advice is enjoy your holiday. Make the most of making memories.

This is our third time at sun palace and didn’t want to come back home rooms were cleaned everyday don’t know why there are bad reviews as we had no problems at all.But the animation team are the ones that made our stay there they work really hard to keep everyone entertained and can not praise them enough they actually got me doing some activities 🤣 I would stay there again.

So we have just arrived back.. 12 of us in total 6 adults 6 kids ages between 1-9 had 3 rooms 2 family with bunks in 500 block and 1 standard in 100 main building.. When first arriving there was confusion on 1 of the family rooms so 1 party had to stay in a different room for 1 night and switch in the morning which was a bit frustrating but was sorted.. Both family rooms were very very spacious and perfect cleaned every day with fresh towels, toilet roll etc so couldn't fault at all.. Standard room in 100 bit was quite small for family of 4 but was okay as didn't spend loads of time in room and cleaner was not as great.. Couldn't fault the cleanliness of the whole hotel always someone in toilets cleaning or main areas all the cleaning, bar and restaurant staff work very hard and no issues were had at all.. There was always somewhere you could get food and drink.. drink machine available 24/7 and food available from morning till midnight in multiple places.. There was snack bar, main restaurant, waterpark restaurant, burger bar, greek restaurant, Mexican restaurant.. only thing I would say was in main restaurant some bits of food was cold sometimes but we always found something to eat for all of us and the shop on site always had stuff you could buy for those fussy eaters as well.. The highlight for everyone was the animation team they were absolutely brilliant especially Owen and Alexandro they made our whole 2 weeks from taking the men on a night out, to doing all the activities in the day with us, to the brilliant shows and entertainment on the night.. they catered for all ages with adults activities, junior activities and kids club for the younger ones which all of us participated in.. the shows on the night were brilliant with some great acts but also with the animators own nights which our group got involved in.. Ignore all the negative reviews I could not rate this place high enough.. the cleanliness and the staff definitely made our 2 week family holiday.. Only thing that could be improved would be the temperature of the food and allowing late check out as I do not believe that the whole hotel was booked out and the shower room 30 mins for a family of 4 when it's across the road is not good but that is my only grumbles.. 😁🙂 Thanks for a great holiday especially Owen and Alexandro and the rest of the animation team 🥰🥰

Best thing about this hotel was the animation team they were absolutley brilliant and could tell they loved their job.water park was really good and hardly had to que for anything,food was ok and well presented, some parts of the hotel are run down, majority of the staff are friendly,the ones that work in the onsite shop are very arrogant! I can see why some of the staff seam rude or miserable probably had enough of everyone leaving their rubbish about when there are plenty of bins,old guy at the pool bar is very rude unless you tip him! Under the bed in the room looked as though it had not been cleaned for years but to be fair i wasnt sleeping under the bed so didnt bother me too much, all in all we had a good time and thats all that matters i wouldnt return as its not that special but it is worth a visit for a family that has not been before,some of the bad reviews are over the top

I thought I had to put a review due to the bad ones I have seen on here, I have to say that despite those bad review me and my friends decided to not change and stick with this hotel and I am so glad we did. The only thing I can comment on that was not up to standard was the food could do with a little variety but with the Greek restaurant and the burger house I can’t complain too much as this provided a change of scenery and some different food for us The water park was good but was windy when we were there so wasn’t great and we only spent the first couple of days there. One of the best things about the hotel was the constant entertainment all day, there is always something to do and the team always come round to say good morning and are always making an effort to entertain everyone, would like to shout out the whole team who put great effort in not just with us to make our holiday but also the other families at the hotel I spoke to had nothing but nice things to say about the team, special shout out to Aurel, Alessandro and Freja for being so good with all of us and making our holiday better than I could’ve ever expected. Miss these guys so much already and would definitely go back again!

To be clear this is just our experience and view only. There is no doubt our worst holiday ever and over the years we have been to a lot of places across the world (had a previous Trip Advisor account but lost the details and no longer have the email). Staff: The only staff that were courteous or helpful were housekeeping. Everyone was rude and didn't have time for you. A few examples: Reception: room was only set up with beds for three people - we booked for four. Went down to reception to ask for another bed to be set up and told 'can't you do it yourself?' Err no, that's your job. Reception: Key cards to the room never worked and consistently took at least three minutes to get in the room. It was linked to the fact the room had an old key reader and the door handle not fixed on correctly. They would do nothing about this and told us it will open. Buffett: staff were consistently rude and unhelpful throughout the visit. Pushing past you, tutting if you needed a knife and fork as there wasn't one, moaning if you reported something on the floor (normally food). Pool: The first week the pool was disgusting - you could not even see your feet. It was much better the second week though. The water made my eyes really sore, especially in the first week so couldn't enjoy the water as much as I would have liked. The beach, although around ten minutes walk was much better and at the least the sunbeds weren't broken. If you wanted a sunbed by the pool, you had to get your towels out before 7am otherwise you had no sunbed. Even when you did, most were broken and uncomfortable. The beach was beautiful and proper sunbeds - yes, €20 for two beds and an umbrella but definitely worth it. We would get there around 10am and still be loads to choose from. The food was also good at the beach and reasonable priced. Room: Our room was dirty and very small for four people. You could only just get between the beds and desk. Although housekeeping came every day, they did not change the bedlinen or towels - they just made the beds and folded the towels. Even when we asked for fresh linen/towels, it was still the same. We used our own towels in the end. The floor was filthy. You step out the shower and, if you aren't wearing something on your feet, you need to wash them again. The most annoying things were the key entry (which I have already mentioned above) and the constant power going out. The slot you have to put your key in to get electricity was not on the wall properly (a large gap at the back) so guessing that was the issue. The hotel were no help with the issue and advised to just keep trying until it works and switching the fuse board on and off. The room was like it had no doors or windows - every single sound could be heard, even other people in their toilets! It was not pleasant and inappropriate at times for children. Food - buffet restaurant: The food was ok in the buffet but the food was not hot. Even the ones they bring out while you are standing there

Terrible experience! Food is horrendous! Raw chicken nuggets for kids luckily we cut them open before they had ate them. Some of the staff are just rude. Set your alarm for 6am to get a Sunbed for main pool. Rooms are falling apart! Some of our party had no air con working in there rooms. In AUGUST!!! To top it off a Cat was dying at the side of the pool. Told the life guard about it who came had a look and shrugged his shoulders! Eventually a TUI rep sorted it to be removed. Literally the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
