Silverbow Inn & Suites

What a lovely stay in downtown Juneau. We were there for a wedding, and the staff acknowledged that and our role in the wedding and really helped us to enjoy the stay.! Great breakfast bar in the morning with a wide variety, centrally located, and, over the years, we have watched as the Silverbow has grown into the great and yet modest hotel that it is today. Great work!

Stayed 3 nights in a one-bedroom king room, which I chose because I wanted a room with a kitchenette. The hotel is in a great location, and it has just about every feature you could ask for -- breakfast, espresso, hot tubs (with sign-in sheets to easily reserve private use), smart tvs, blackout shades, self check-in, laundry, nice toiletries. All the staff I interacted with were great as well, and I appreciated the ability to text quick questions. The imperfect things were the price, limited parking, no elevator, and some of the design details in the room were kind of cheap looking (sorry! nothing bad, just think more like a decent "flip" rather than a high-end renovation). I would definitely stay here again if wanting to be downtown.

Look no further if you are keen on a cosy hotel with super warm service. Excellent amenities, perfect location near to everything you need. 24hr pantry stocked with goodies. Super helpful staff full of the best recommendations. Shout out heather!

The Good: The staff was friendly and attentive and the decor was really cool. Our first floor room was very clean as was the lobby and kitchen area. The hotel management was responsive to our issues and agreeable to a refund. The food at In Bocca al Lupo was incredible! The Bad: The experience was not relaxing and was stressful. Our first-floor room was tightly sandwiched between a noisy lobby and the connecting restaurant, making sleep impossible. The constant chatter, creaking floors, slamming doors, banging cabinets, and a mysterious vibrating hum kept us up all night. We also heard late night clanging in the alley area outside our first floor room. Safety was also a major concern. The room lacked an inside latch, and the top window latch was unlocked upon arrival. The side hallway exterior door by our guestroom door was also propped open at times. People from the restaurant can easily walk into the hallway right outside our door. It is separated by several feet. We ended up barricading the guestroom door ourselves with furniture and locking the window ourselves. I later found a review echoing our safety concerns, where a family with young daughters left the hotel for the same reason. To make matters worse, loud construction concrete drilling prevented us from relaxing in our room upon our arrival from the airport. They had the nerve to offer ear plugs. Seriously? By 3 a.m. on our only night there, I was in tears, sleep-deprived, and regretting Juneau. We had to switch hotels the next day, which was an added expense and a frustrating experience for my daughter to have to repack and drag bags around town. We moved to the Sheraton, which was significantly more comfortable and quiet. We slept all night at the Sheraton with zero disruption. The Silverbow hotel could easily fix these noise and safety problems by limiting late-night noise, securing the room door with an inside latch, and informing guests about the first-floor room's issues. They should not even offer that room, especially to women. But until they do, I strongly recommend staying away from the Silverbow Inn unless you know for 100% certain that you're not in that room. This was not a vacation on our first night, but a stressful and sleepless ordeal. I shared my frustration with Silverbow management in writing. They refunded me for the night that we didn't use.

Silver Bow Inn is special. The experience with the Inn begins before you even depart for the airport with its friendly welcoming texts. Imagine an interactive text conversation with your hotel with nearly immediate answers to your questions. That’s the Silver Bow experience: I asked about taxis at the airport; they replied with names and numbers. We arrived preloaded with the instructions for front door entry, found an envelope for us for room number and entry code—and cookies. 24/7 chocolate chip cookies. We had dinner at the restaurant attached to the Inn and it was the best meal of our stay, even though all the places we ate were good. Our room was the top floor (no elevator: it’s a historic building) and was fun, clean, comfortable and quiet. The mattress was so comfortable! Breakfast is lovely: self serve with real food and fun conversation. And I can’t skip mentioning Tina, who was like a fairy godmother for the whole of our visit, conjuring whatever we requested and helping us above and beyond the dutiful point. Her friendliness was so warm and kind that she was a separate highlight of the stay.

Great location, nice rooms, fantastic staff. Spent three nights before uncruise adventure. Within walking distance of all the ports and attractions of Juneau. Highly recommended. Staff went above and beyond to ensure are comfort. Rooms were quiet and the breakfast was a great start to the day.
