I love Jokkmokk. This town is one of my favorite places and hotel Akerlund is a wonderful historical building. Simple, quiet and safe.

The hotel itself looks outdated from the outside. Inside it looks more charming, especially the reception and breakfast area. The room was clean but had not much comfort. Breakfast was sober. First hotel during our trip through Sweden and Norway with no plantbased milk/ gurt. But I have to mention I did not ask for it as well. I always have some with me myself.

The staff of the hotel was courteous and the property itself was fine. But they gave me a room like a broom closet. Small and dark. And next to the actual broom closet, right on the main corridor to other rooms, so noisy as well. I asked to change rooms immediately upon seeing mine but they refused. Total rip off. I will never return as other options in Jokkmokk are much better and some are also cheaper.

Nice hotel with but nightshift staff wasn't very welcoming or helpful. Dayshift was very nice. The heating made noise which could be helped to some extent by moving the sofa to block vibrations on the heater radiator. Weird was that in the nice bathroom there's a 5cm gap around the tub. How anybody would clean that is beyond my understanding. Also the water while showering would inevitably spill there. Might have caused the somewhat annoying smell.

Lite shabby shic på utsidan, men det yttre luras lite. Toppmodernt, stiligt och snyggt inrett. Kul att sätta upp bilder från hotellets anrika historia. Det här är ett av de ytterst få hotellen där jag gärna sitter i loungen. Det fanns ett kök med micro och bestick ifall man är budgetresenär, även dessa utrymmen var nya och av högsta klass.
Flera fina restauranger i närheten.
Utmärkt frukost.
Hit kommer jag gärna igen vid nästa stopp i Jokkmokk.
