The hotel just opened in 2024, so everything is still very new. The reception is on the top floor (27th), along with the restaurant, gym, and laundry room. My room was decorated in a B-Duck theme. It was super spacious and even had toys inside, which my child really enjoyed. Everything was cute and carefully arranged. I was surprised to see a Dyson hair dryer in the bathroom! The breakfast buffet was delicious and had more variety than other hotels I’ve stayed at recently. I especially liked the instant coffee packets – very convenient, and not many hotels offer that. There’s a free laundry and drying service, and they even folded the clothes and delivered them to the room after drying. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also in a very convenient area, close to a supermarket and lots of good restaurants. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Qufu.

Qufu was one of our favourite places and so was this interesting hotel! Right opposite the city wall and near the gate for the changing of the guard and lightshow, and of course the famous Confucius temple and mansion. The hotel seems all dedicated to promote the ancient values and arts, the villas are exciting to explore and the furnishings are gorgeous, full of details, at the same time clearly designed to be high quality accommodation, and extremely spacious. Also the restaurant is a delight and breakfast a real treat. Our stay was a highlight in so many ways, not least thanks to the friendly and passionate staff, thanks a lot!

The room was fantastic, a cozy two-story layout with a balcony! We were able to experience the charm of Confucian culture up close (it's very close to the 'Three孔' scenic area). Our family excitedly discussed the Analects, believing that in such a quiet and harmonious environment, Confucius himself would surely feel our presence. The experience was unparalleled! We also felt the meticulous and thoughtful assistance from Marriott's front desk staff, Xiao Qian and Xiao Hong, who are from the birthplace of Confucianism. They helped me mail documents and even sent back my child's pants that were left behind after we checked out! I'm not sure if 'Marriott' (万豪) derives its '万' from the 'wan ren gong qiang' (万仞宫墙 - ten-thousand-foot palace wall) and its '豪' from the 'hao jie' (豪杰 - heroes) who have bowed down for centuries, but I do know that 'green hair' (绿发 - *possibly a playful or inside reference, hard to translate directly without context, so kept as is*) hides the promise of our family's next spontaneous journey!

Tive uma experiência excelente no Shangri-La de Qufu. Summary Great location BUT loud music at 745/8am daily for 30mins , plus cigarette stench in rooms Location Excellent, right Infront of Kong Temple (it's huge), HOWEVER be warned of the loud music coming from the temple and cigarette smell (read below). Kong Mansion is about 5mins walk from the Temple's right , and then the cemetery is located behind the There is a performance at the front of the temple gates at 8am every morning - the music is so loud it will wake you up from 745am 😂 10mins walk to their pedestrian street , you will find Luckin Coffee, Hey Tea etc and I highly reccomend MOBEN Thai restaurant located about 5mins walk (north) from Hey Tea . Rooms We walked into a room which stunk of cigarette smell. Suspect it was either coming through the shared air vents or the linen/towels , as if they were dried at a location where others smoke nearby. It's a pity because it's a really nice hotel. We had someone trying to enter the lift with a lighted cigarette in his mouth , and I had to push him out . That's crazy . Breakfast Simple and nice local spread. Gym Only 1 threadmill and 1 spinning bike , shared in the same room as the guests washing machine & dryer. Staff Very helpful and polite staff but they don't speak English. all the staffs are all very friendly. the front desk, housekeepers, and the staffs in the restaurant. the variety of food in the breakfast spread was good. I especially like the complimentary fruit tray provided every afternoon and light porridge every night. the hotel was very understanding and had offered to change my room due to the leakage from the heavy rain. as I did not request for the change, I was impressed that they had try to accommodate thou running on full occupancy. I was impressed by the hotel teamwork n unity. the team worked together to block the flood from entering from the main gate by stacking the sand bags, they worked tirelessly in the heavy downpour and overcoming the flood.
