The most authentic historic inn I’ve stayed in, thanks to the tilting creaky floors, old-fashioned sitting room, 11 cozy (but updated) rooms above a welcoming tavern (operated under separate management). Listed in the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Jeffersonville Historic District, situated at the main intersection. Delicious breakfasts prepared to order are included, prepared by the welcoming hosts. Good wifi. Closest place to stay if you are going to the trailheads for Mount Mansfield in Underhill State Park. A short walk to kayak and canoe center on the Lamoille River, and to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Convenient laundromat close by for outdoor types making a longer stay. Jeffersonville has a real village feel, with a street grid, restaurants, a weekly farmers market, general stores, a brewpub, galleries, and seemed a much more enjoyable and laid-back place to stay than traffic-clogged Stowe. A charming and delightful place.
