Rosewood Jeddah

The hotel, restaurant, and rooms were good and the service was exceptional. However, I was disappointed to find the pool out of service during my stay, with no sun loungers available to enjoy the rooftop. I had specifically chosen this hotel to relax and unwind, but it took 48 hours to make the rooftop functional. This was frustrating, especially since I couldn’t access the beach either, which made the trip to Jeddah feel somewhat unfulfilling. Not the standards from Rosewood Hotels.

Finest hotel in Jeddah for business or leisure. Be sure to book a suite on the Red Sea side of the hotel, above the 7th floor for best views of waves crashing on the shore. Here is a summary of my two night stay, based on a maximum score of 10” Bed comfort 10. Nice mattress, high grade sheets Room Lighting 6. Awful master control panel by the bed, with the screen so badly lit, you cannot see the options A/C: 7 It can bet very cold, but the problem is that there is no actual temperature setting. Just low, medium, high TV Channels 10 Many languages, many programs Shower 2. The shower handle does not fit the holder. You have to hold it the whole time or if you manage to jam in the holder, it will spray the walls. Also, the shower door would not close fully. Toiletries 6 The content of the items are good. However, everything is in tubes, like toothpaste, and difficult to use. Also, most hotels have by now switched to large dispensers to avoid plastic waste, but not in this property. Breakfast 7 Modest selection. Not really like a five star hotel buffet. The express was good, but I think the machine is on a different level and it takes them a good while to bring it. There are no small spoons for the yogurt containers or for boiled egg on the counter. You have to ask for them Location: 8 On the sea, with partial sea views. Nothing walkable in the neighborhood other than a strip mall with 5-6 coffee shops. There is also a Starbucks across the street. Outlets & Charging 7 Very odd that some outlets were Europe standard, while others were UK standard. No USB ports anywhere Welcome Fruit basket 10 Nice variety of fresh fruits. If you have stayed other Rosewood hotels, you will note that this one does not live up to the standard. Soon there will be Raffles next door. When it opens, I would give that one a try.
