Location is perfect to walk inside the fort. The owner of the Haveli can come with you discovering Jailsamer. His explanations are very helpful. Very good Indian breakfast with toasts if wanted. A lot of restaurants are available inside the fort, few minutes walking distance.

Started here for 2 nights in the Junior Suite. The hotel is a converted haveli or traditional townhouse in India. It’s located inside the walled city of Jaisalmer and like nearly every building, located on a narrow street. The building has all the intricate carvings and lattice windows you’d expect from a Rajasthani haveli, although it's sadly difficult to see all the details from the narrow street. What you can see is still beautiful. The family lives on the ground floor, while the upper floors are rented out. My suite was on the second floor, up narrow stone steps. Definitely a problem if you have mobility issues. My room was one of the Junior Suites with a balcony facing the street. The room is decorated in traditional haveli style with many of the original fittings. The room could do with a refresh, but in some ways it helps to retain the character and history of the building the way it is. The bathroom is pretty basic and I understand that there are practical limitations to installing modern conveniences in a traditional house. It was good enough for my needs. Pigeons do get into the room and leave their mess and I do wish it had been cleaned better before I arrived. I was willing to accept this for the sake of staying in a traditional house. Breakfast is very basic, just some toasts and tea/coffee, which you can have on the balcony with views of a Jain temple. The staff were very communicative from the beginning with offers to help with transport etc. So kudos for that. The whole family is very welcoming. Location wise, the hotel is about as far as you can get from the entrance to the fort area, but it’s not a long walk, maybe 10 minutes. Overall, I had a great stay. I do wish the family would charge more so that they can update the haveli with better modern conveniences such as barriers against pigeons and better breakfast options.

Our experience at this place was spectacular. It is a very special place and run by equally special people. The place is unique and the hospitality of the family that runs it is perfect. In fact, they gave us so many tips on activities and places to visit and most importantly, they made us feel at home. It has also a incredible view from its rooftop over the temples. The location is right next to the main monuments. Truly recommended.

Stayed here for one night with my partner and really enjoyed my stay. This hotel is located in the Jaisalmer fort right next to the jain temple and used to belong to accountants from the king era. Amazing service by the hosts and breakfast was great as well. Will stay again!

Jaisalmer fort is a living city, unique isn't it. this property has pretty much retained its original construction which is atleast 200 years back. regal, beautiful, mesmerizing .. a piece of history. thanks shubham Vyas for your warm hospitality.

What an magical stay. The haveli is simply stunning and you feel like royalty from the moment of arrival. Truly special to stay not only in the actual fort area and look out with coffee in the morning and a chilled beer at night from your balcony on to the Jain temple but also with this family. I was so privileged that Shubham took me around the old fort and filled my curiosity with wonderful stories and details that he has gathered from the generations of relatives who have lived there and worked for the royal family - we also popped onto his scooter and went out to see the royal tombs and stopped for lovely chai with his friends on the way back. My room was gorgeous … a little hot as only a fan but then it is abnormally hot at the moment and a few mosquitoes did decide they wanted to join me but they gave me a coil that kept them at bay! Bed so comfy, hot water and Wi-Fi all great - they offered Indian breakfast but I just like coffee and toast in the morning! Nothing was too much trouble from restaurant suggestions, stories, cold drinking water to arranging a taxi to take me to Jodhpur. I would highly recommend and hope to return.

The Suraj hotel is a 500 year old Haveli located inside the fort overlooking the Jain temple. A stunning Maharaja’s bedroom, warm, clean and very comfortable. Stunning location and the host family simply could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. Highly recommend

Arrived in Jaisalmer for a 4 night stay at the lovely Hotel Suraj. We were given the most amazing welcome from the Vyas Family. This 500 year old home is like stepping back in time with an authentic interior/features that haven’t changed much… except for our en-suite bathroom that had one of the best and hottest showers I’ve had travelling around India! Food served on the roof top terrace was SO delicious and freshly prepared daily- ask for the poha. This haveli was made even more spectacular by the dedication and service from the owners - to ensure your every need is looked after. Shubham couldn’t do enough for us! He was an amazing host and friend throughout our 5 days. His guided fort tour was informative and relaxed. They also organised a fabulous desert overnight trip (riding camels to a remote non- touristic area and camping under the stars on the sand dunes with a campfire dinner and breakfast the following morning). I highly recommend this trip if you want a “real” desert experience. We loved Jaisalmer, and the main reason was the hospitality of Shubham and his wonderful family! We will definitely be back.

Less words only WOW... We were family and friends group of 13 including kids. Right from the time we were searching for a place to spend time in Jaiselmer and even after we left the place we are in touch with Harshad..😀.. Harshad's place is great, i would not explain in detail..Harshad is the best person to do that.. .we all shld feel the place. Other than above best part is interactions with Harshad.. The details we experienced... as is what we felt explained.. every detail is, as he mentioned. Hospitality.. Again WOW. Every minute we were there Harshad's fmily were busy attending us.. We had dinner and breakfast a great experience for us... Later we realised Harshad's family prepared it. Really appreciate!!! No more words. WoW... Homely Homely.... Homely....
