The property was sufficient enough for our 2 night stay as a family of 5, because of the length of our journey from the midlands. We needed a place to stay and to self cater as a last minute booking through *********** for a family funeral. I was sceptical because the reviews were very disappointing. I was regretting booking. We had to go to inverness Town centre to collect our key, no parking so my husband stayed in the car whilst I ran in. On the 1st floor i was greeted where I gave my husbands name. The young man reached in his pocket and gave me the key. This took a matter of moments. We drove to property 11A. There was off road parking. We went in and yes I have to agree with the reviews. The carpets are really in need of a good clean, wood work and doors included in the kitchen on door fronts need a good spring clean and them keeping on top of. There are a couple of holes in The wall. We immediately checked the bedding after reading comments of finding dirty bedding but this was not the case. We was happy to find some loo rolls in place and towels. No hand soap so make sure you take some with you. You will probably need a tea towel and cloth, there is a dishwasher and some tablets whilst we was there. On our last day I struggled with sleeping so I decided to give the place a bit of a clean. So around door handles, cupboard fronts, glass doors, pvc doors, the kettle, sockets, and I cleared out the freezer of very old bags of ice and the dirt in the bottom of it. I also sorted the cleaning cupboard out as was a tip. Items chucked in a cleaning products leaking over the travel cot. Before we left I decided to ***** the beds to make sure that the next person definitely gets a change of bedding. The mattresses could do with a good clean in the master bedroom and the one under the window with the two singles. The shower sets off the smoke alarms. The showers both have a bit of mould stains but I would not say that it is dirty. I emptied all the bins and added new bags as we found rubbish left from the previous guest in the kitchen bin. Also a small amount of crisps crumbs on living room floor. I also threw away old packets of food left by someone before us behind the microwave. There is obvious leaks that are either active from the showers/bath upstairs in both corners of the kitchen. This really needs to be addressed by the company as it has been mentioned many times. The side of the bath is also off. Really unappealing look. Basically if you are happy to be helpful, the cleaning stuff is there. I feel the cleaner could be under pressure with their work load and I tried to be helpful and help make a nice stay for the next paying guest. If the cleaner is slacking I suggest they address this or employ more staff to please all your guest. The property is very modern and has a huge potential for being very pleasing to all your guests and make them want to return. I’ll start with the positives: the actual house has potential. It’s a nice house with quality doors and is well laid out. 3 bedrooms upstairs, one with an en suite. Oh and there’s space right outside to park. Negatives: The entire house was FILTHY. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There were dead flies on the window ledges and carpet. There were food remnants on the wall next to the bin. The sofa looked like it was falling apart but upstairs was even worse. One of the beds hadn’t been changed since the last guests checked out and there were hairs, you know what type of hairs, on the sheets and to quote my friend, it smelled of bloke! We found a face mask and other debris in the cupboard. We were given one towel (which was damp) between 4 of us and there was one toilet roll and one almost finished hand soap between all 3 toilets. The rubbish bins were overflowing outside too. Also, we wasted an hour having to drive to a guesthouse a few miles away with no parking to pick up the keys as the owner didn’t respond to my two earlier calls requesting entry instructions. We spoke with the landlady after we checked in and she offered us a refund without batting an eyelid. I’m sure we weren’t the first or the last to refuse to stay there. The house was so filthy we decided we couldn’t stay so booked a few rooms in the Travelodge instead. One week and two messages on and I still haven’t received a refund. In a word, avoid!

The location was good as you can walk into Inverness. It was a semi-detached house, part of which had recently been refurbished. However it was not clean! Carpets were badly stained, we had to clean the kitchen and everything in it before using it. Furniture was dirty and unsafe i.e. broken chairs etc., old splashes on skirting boards etc.. There was no inventory list and many basic items e.g. tin opener, casserole dish etc were missing so that we had to buy them. Others were not complete or damaged. The bins were full to overflowing and next door the birds had scattered the contents all over the front garden. The back garden was full of cigarette buts. The two outside problems were dealt with on Monday after I contacted the owners, but none of the others. A taxi driver said the house had been rented to workers so it was obvious that it had not been thoroughly cleaned before we got it. Bearing the Covid-19 problems and restrictions we were shocked that they are allowed to rent out property in that condition. This is only a summary of what it was like. We were shocked and I can honestly say that this was the worst self-catering accommodation I have ever experienced in Scotland. We couldn’t hoover as there was no vacuum cleaner. There were dirty cloths under the sink. The fridge freezer hadn‘t been cleaned and there was an old opened carton of ice cream in the freezer. Etc., etc.
