Aydinbey King's Palace & Spa

It was our first family trip to Turkey and we were booked into the Aydinbey Kings Palace in Side for a 10 day holiday with my husband and 2 daughters who are in their 20’s. The hotel was right on the beach and had a lovely mix of A la carte and buffet restaurants, catering for a wide range of tastes. The staff at the hotel were all fantastic - from the waiters/waitresses to the cleaners etc they couldn’t do enough for us. I want to make a special shout out however to the animation team, in particular to Cesur, Jesus and Mesut and the animation team manager who went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic holiday. They were on the go from early morning offering aqua fit, darts, volleyball and pool games etc to dancing with the guests in the evening at the beach bar late into the evening. They would also come and have a chat with us each day. Most of the guests at the hotel were from Germany and as we were the only guests from Scotland I was very impressed that the animation team always gave us a shout out at the evening entertainment. Thank you so much for making us so welcome and creating very happy memories. Other reviews from the UK have complained about the mostly German guests but I want to reassure people that all the guests we met were lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming. Hopefully we will be back again soon.

Brilliant hotel and child friendly loved staying here would defiantly recommend my child really loved all the water slides.

Really enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the staff so friendly and helpful. The swimming pool good size with a variety of slides. Food choice very varied and tasty. For me the Spa was the highlight, Adam one of the managers was incredibly helpful and Eulhan gave the best massage I have ever had. I can not recommend a visit to the spa enough. She was incredible!

Our time in the hotel was absolutely amazing. We had the most incredible experiences through our journey. SPA was wonderful, the crew was well educated. The activities were few because of the season but the team was friendly, especially Deniz was our favorite. The hotel was clean as well, we had the best time with our friends and family. Highly recommended!!

We went in early March, before the occupancy and prices go up. We found a good offer at a 3rd party booking site and got a very good price. We were rewarded because the early March weather was pretty nice. Their beach area and beach bar is above average, although this section of the coastline is more dirt than sand. At least it wasn't the rock beaches that you find in some parts of the Turkish Mediterranean coast. The sun canopies weren't up yet, and very few went into the sea, but their beach area was well maintained and staffed. They were doing a limited lunch (burgers and pasta) from 12 to 3 and cookies from 3 to 4. Their bar wad pretty complete. There were some pretty serious soccer players to provide entertainment. The pools looked nice, but again still a little cool with very few swimmers. The pool bar was excellent with excellent service. Our room was nice and well cleaned. The bathroom was good with one of the better tiling jobs I've seen. The dining room food was well above average, and the chefs were always around monitoring. Service was excellent. We had two dinners in their a la carter restaurants (Italian and seafood). Both were good. The Italian was particularly good. Both were at no extra charge for one meal per week. Because our stay straddled two weeks, we were able to go twice. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Friendly, happy, helpful, professional. Wherever you went. The management must be doing things right. To be honest, this isn't a high end resort. But it is well above average and didn't break the bank. Definitely a place to return. Also, some reviews have criticized the large number of German guests. Really!? This is Antalya. Some resorts are frequented by Germans (this is certainly one). Some by Russians. Some by Middle Easterners. Some by English. We didn't find this to be a detractors.

When we booked the hotel with Love Holidays we understood from reading reviews that the hotel guests would be largely German. That didn't bother us as we intended to go out walking during the daytime rather than being around the hotel. It was the case that the vast majority of the guests were German. The staff generally speak German as their second language. Despite the slight language barrier we were treated respectfully in a friendly manner by the staff. In fact the staff seemed to try to go out of their way with friendliness and a welcoming manner. The main restaurant serves buffet meals. There is a good choice of food but it isn't as good as another hotel (5 star) we have used. I would rate the food in general as three star, certainly not five star. I am sorry to report that one lunchtime I ate chicken wings from the chargrill in the main buffet. Having eaten two, I noticed blood and redness in one I was eating. During the afternoon I gradually felt unwell. During the evening I felt even worse and then during the night I had a very upset stomach and was violently sick. The following day I was weak and tired. This illness cost us a day of our holiday. The matter was reported to staff. I do realise that with mass catering, occasionally things go wrong. It was an unfortunate occurrence and although unpleasant, it didn't spoil our holiday. The hotel has a hair dresser, Spa, indoor heated pool and a gym. We didn't use these so can't comment about their quality. The hotel is all inclusive with Internationally branded drinks. The drinks were extremely good and the service was brilliant. The evenings in the bar were extremely enjoyable. Although we couldn't really converse with other (German) guests, we were made more than welcome with the friendly attitude of all the bar staff. The room was cleaned each day and fresh towels were provided. The general cleanliness of the hotel was first class. The location of the hotel was ideal for our purposes. There were plenty of safe places to walk. In particular right along the sea front. We walked to Side and back which is quite a distance, perhaps six miles each way. There are masses of shops and malls within a short walk from the hotel. There are also Dolmus buses available nearby for trips to Side or Manavgat for the huge street market. These mini buses are cheap 1.5 euros each. It's worth noting that everywhere takes Euros, UK pounds are also usually welcome. Would we return to the hotel? Probably not. We have been to better and can't help but compare. It's a very good hotel. We have now seen that location and will move on.

Firstly, just to note that this was not my first choice of hotel. My online tour operator cancelled my first hotel option 8 weeks before departure, and then again 23 hours before departure. My original booking for my holiday was a 5* Adults Only hotel, I was notified 23 hours before departure that the hotel I was booked into had closed for the season, however the Kings Palace had availability. After looking forward to going to this resort, for almost a year, a resort I had not visited before I was so excited about my holiday. I arrived at the Kings Palace the outside and entrance were impressive. I was greeted well at reception and shown to my room. I had booked a side sea view room, but I could only see the sea if I really leant over the far corner of my balcony. My room looked directly across into to a hotel room in the hotel next door. My room was situated right next to the lift (3033) and on a night i was kept awake until the early hours by noisy guests who were coming back to their rooms and saying goodnight to eachother directly outside my room. I was woken up on my first morning to the sound of new flooring being laid in rooms a few doors down from my room. I saw a young man bringing packs of the flooring up to the rooms on a trolley. The noise was so bad that I took a few videos of it. I hadn't been informed that there was work being carried out at the hotel, so this really frustrated me. I asked reception at 4pm if the work was going to be going on much longer, amd I was told that it was finished that day. On my second day the noise was back, I contacted my online tour operator and they made contact with the hotel, who apparently denied I had approached them regarding the noise and also denied there was work going on in the hotel, luckily I had the videos to support my complaint. The rooms are not sound proofed, so you can hear when people have had a few too many drinks and start to talk loudly/argue. On the Saturday I was given a room change with a much nicer view (3214). For a time I was the only English guest and felt alienated. On one tried to communicate with me, and if I said good morning/evening the other guests (mainly German guests) would not respond. The atmosphere in the hotel seemed flat and no one seemed to smile. The food in this hotel was absolutely amazing. There was plenty of choice and there was something to suit every appetite. However, there was no where to just go and grab a quick snack when the restaurant was closed. However, there were a small selection of cakes available at the pool bar, but only between 3pm & 4pm. The smoking area is in the lounge area conservatory and Irish Pub conservatory. The smoke carries through back into both places and clings to the furniture and ultimately hangs in the air and onto your clothes. We have just returned from a 7-day stay with my wife. We had read a lot of reviews beforehand... so when we arrived there weren't many surprises, and if there were, they were very positive. We knew that this was a hotel mainly for guests from Germany (they simply liked this hotel and many Germans relax here). Of course, it didn't bother me at all ;-) We were there in February and had a few rainy days, but thanks to this hotel we had a great stay. We were without children, so we could read books, have a coffee or a drink in super comfortable conditions (in very comfortable leather armchairs in wonderfully atmospheric bars. The swimming pool and sauna are always available, and there is a wonderful sandy beach for walks. Kitchen and service are a separate topic). .We had already read many favorable opinions here, but the reality exceeded our expectations. Incredible variety and availability... everything was delicious. The waiters were always polite and satisfied (Thanks to their work, you felt very comfortable and special)... The waiters were wonderful , brilliant and we are proud of them and very grateful. We took advantage of the alacarte restaurant (we came on Valentine's Day). Once again we were impressed by the service, food and wonderful wine served. The beach has plenty of beds and is very clean and the sea is amazing. The hotel's location is also very good. It's easy to walk along the beach and then take the picturesque beach promenade to the old town of Side (worth it!!!)... I won't write anything more so that the hotel can welcome and surprise you wonderfully. I recommend Aydinbey King's Palace & Spa to relax and unwind in an amazing, delicious atmosphere.
