My family, our friend and her young daughter have just left 4 days of hell at Can Guillem. We made this booking due to our flight being cancelled in the air traffic control nightmare so not much choice with it being the height of season. We went with Can Guillem as it seemed to look safe, clean and child friendly. How wrong we were! From the get go we were treated as total inconveniences. Really passive aggressive welcome (If you can call it that) on arrival. We were given no information about facilities, rooms and grounds. On being walked over to our room I found myself apologizing for the last minute booking. To which the manager said ‘last minute, try last second’ I mean, come on, this is a hotel that we have paid a lot of money for. Not to mention we are clearly tired, stressed and needing to calm our young children after a day of airport madness. The room my Daughter and I stayed in was dark, damp and had such an overbearing air freshener smell (to hide the damp)it made us feel very unwell. This was supposedly the nicest room of the three. Breakfast was supposed to start at 8am so when we arrived the next morning with three very hungry young children we were told they weren’t ready and to come back later. Breakfast is from 8am not at 8am, I was told.Eventually when we did come back we were shocked to find a really poor choice of buffet which all seemed like very basic, cheap produce from Lidil and stale. Burnt croissants, stale milk, awful awful AWFUL coffee, wasps floating in the juices and were flying just about everywhere. Very unfriendly staff who literally tutted in our faces if we asked for something as basic as a fork or napkin. As we were pretty much stranded at this place we tried to make the most of it by staying by the pool with the children. To start the pool was absolutely filthy. There were these odd mattresses / loungers which were covered in filthy sheets. The parasol broke and nearly hit my three year old son in the face. We asked for help to have it moved and given another for shade and they didn’t do it until 5 hours later. And just when you felt things couldn’t get anyone worse we had a 6yr old child in our party thrown into the pool by a member of hotel staff. This outrageous action has been completely ignored by both the Hotel where this incident happened and *********** who is the company we booked the rooms from. They out it down to just play. What the hell! To say we are shocked and upset is an understatement. No available free drinking water on site. With three young children and temps reaching 34degrees how can this even be legal? Ants all over the place and going into our room. When asked about it we were given a can of bug spray and told to go sort ourselves. I could go on and on but I’d be here all day. The only positive is that the gardens look quite nice. Believe me nothing looks like the pictures on booking in real Life though. It’s very deceiving! Not normally one to rant or even b
