Although it is situated a little outside of town this is great because it offers a calm and relaxing environment, the free shuttles also make it incredibly easy to visit town and the Falls so you do not miss out on anything. We would recommend booking half or full board as the buffet is expensive if you are only looking for a light meal.

It is indeed a century-old luxury hotel built by British colonists. It shows aristocratic temperament everywhere, low-key atmosphere, thoughtful and meticulous service. The overall environment of the hotel is very good, the facilities are a bit old but clean and tidy. Completely furnished, very close to the entrance to the waterfall. Staying for four days is a good experience, recommended.

The hotel was clean, has a wonderful vulture show at 1pm where they feed the vultures, great view of a watering hole and staff is excellent. Housekeeping came into the room every evening pulled the mosquito netting around the bed and sprayed the room. We did have a few issues. We made reservations for dinner at the restaurant and when we arrived we were told they did not get have the reservation. My husband told the bar manager who said she would handle it and I was at the bar when she was handling the reservation. I suspect that they did not lose our reservation but could not honor it for other reasons. I certainly was not happy about that. They also did not have reservations for a another party that was also traveling with us. The a/c is adequate and the key is to turn on the a/c and the ceiling fan. I would suggest to have laundry done somewhere else as there was a ”grease spot” on a shirt that was returned from laundry. I was able to remove the spot with soap and water. Additionally we were there with a tour and another couples luggage on our tour ended up on the wrong bus even though it was properly labeled. Very nice hotel but has some caveats.
