Firstly may I start by saying this review is based on the Hotel and it's facilities and not the the staff who we found to be really helpful and pleasant. This was not our first visit to Egypt / Hurghada and is based on comparison to other 5 Star Hotels we have previously stayed at. We booked the holiday, Double room not a twin and I emailed the hotel 5 days prior to arrival requesting if possible a room on the 1st or 2nd, On arrival (approx 22.00) we were escorted to our room ground floor twin room ? Reception informed us there are NO rooms with Double beds and we could moved to a 1st room twin room and the beds could be pushed together. We were moved to a new room but the patio doors wouldn't lock ? The following morning we were moved again to another room with a double / king-size bed ? See photos attached not what I would call 5 Star... The food throughout our stay was poor very repetitive and luke warm / cold. We found the main restaurant to be very busy with a lack of seating for the amount of people staying at the Hotel. Our armband was changed to allow us to use the smaller restaurant by the beach however if you arrived after 20.00 the food was cold and not replenished leaving you with a very limited choice and the food did not follow the menu as published ? The last 3 days of our holiday i started to suffer with painful stomach pains / cramps and bought medication from the pharmacy. The alcohlic drinks were awful... On the second day i enquired about upgrading our package to imported premium drinks and other benefits as advertised on our tour operators site but was informed by the reception staff there was no imported premium drinks ? All in all we had a really disappointing stay at the Serenity Alpha Beach it is really not 5 Star. The food was Poor, alcoholic drinks are poor and the room was tired and need of refurbishment.... I have never in all my years of travelling to various countries ever felt the need to leave a negative review but on this occasion I felt I had to and will be taking it up with our tour operator. Members of the staff and animation team ask the residents how their stay is going at the Hotel and take your room number. May I add at no time did I complain to the hotel staff or management about our stay and just accepted it was was it was and just tried to enjoy our holiday ☹️
