This was our 2nd visit 7 years apart. These are our own experience's, there are some die hard, year after year returnees who won't have a bad word said but here goes... Hotel .... Is not a 5star, it is tired, dated and in need of serious maintenance issues, it's the amazing, hard working, friendly staff that make you want for nothing that keeps you coming back. Rooms... Huge, clean but tied, sink in bathroom went down but not up, fridge restocked daily with soft drinks, Pools.... Lots to choose from, from a large deep one, a no smoking one, and a shallow one, the grout is black in all, bits floating, man constantly taking samples. You DO have to get up at 7am to reserve a pool seat, not your favourite seat, just any pool area seat, that was not the case before ,The area has doubled since we was there before, one very hard working pool bar guy assigned to each pool, before we had a drink in our hand before you finished, this time I was actually missed a few times, they still clean sunglasses, bring around a flannel, and fruit cocktail at pool is nice. Food.... Buffet most nights, plentiful and looks fresh, sanitizer as you enter, food tongs everywhere, the a la carte restaurants are all fabulous. We did come home with travellers diarrhea tho even tho we stuck to the bland stuff as we don't enjoy spice, the cakes look amazing but too much gelatin, Drinks.... Local cheap label and very weak, we had sparkling wine in the lobby bar before but that is now reserved for VIP or pay extra, Entertainment.... They call it low key, I call it dire. The singers are awful, there was a sax player in the buffet on gala night, very off key, but there was a fabulous violinist in the lobby and she was fantastic. Everywhere in the hotel is like a ghost town at night, some people go to the marina, and to an English bar there, there is also a good restaurant there to. I think the fact you have to go off site speaks volumes Although we had a nice holiday, we did not feel like we was made to feel like royalty, special and relaxed although the staff work so hard. This bit is not based on the hotel but Egypt in general has changed too since our first visit, random man putting cases on the TUI bus, holding out his hand with a £2 coin, the officials in airport asking for money to be left in bag so cameras didn't pick them up, and vendor in airport over charging me by £3 , we are not rich, we work hard to afford to have holidays, but in all we will not be returning to Egypt
