The good part The establishment is located in a quaint spacious, fully fenced garden and is very central to all amenities. The setting is very peaceful and the staff that we came in contact with were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the weather was wet and misty therefore not ideal to spend exploring the grounds which we would have loved to do. The “log” cabin that we had was on the small size but it was clean and had all the facilities for a two night stop over. The not so good part We were told that we could book in any time after 14h00 yet when we arrive at approx... 15h45 we were informed that we’d have to wait as our room was not ready. We spent about 20mins. waiting before we were shown to our room which was rather annoying to say the least. The following day we were away for the day and when we arrived back at approx... 16h45 to have a shower and get ready to go out for a meal we found we had no towels. Surely this could have been done sometime during the course of the day while we were out. Sorry but the not so good part has cost you a star. We will be back in Howick before the end of November and will stop over again. Hopefully on the next visit the not so good part will have been sorted out and we can give you 5 stars.

We stayed at this establishment as it came well recommended yet this couldn't be further from the truth. We stayed in the Loft Room and the guests downstairs decided to hold a night long party which the establishment could not, and did not, contain hence a sleepless, very noisy night was experienced by my family! I was contacted a couple of days later by the owners who apologised yet when i mentioned they refund us for the night i never heard from them again....nothing more to say! Additional to this the room was not clean and linen definitely requires replacing as well as the lace curtains. It can be seen that there is no effective inspections carried out and standards are extremely poor.

Well worth the stay and will definitely be back. Friendly efficient team, which the service reflects! Well located for a Midlands break, with access to all the surrounding tourist attractions - Bistro on site to cater for your meals

We travelled as a large group and stayed in the corporate suites - the staff were incredible and so accommodating - we loved using the Boma area in the evenings The rooms were clean and comfortable - the bathroom could use a little upgrade as it smelt a bit damp all the time …but overall we loved our stay and will be back

We were pleasantly surprised with the presentation of the room and facilities. Everything was clean and very tidy. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed the stay and staff very friendly and acommodating and helped to find hair dryers or extention leads as required. Had a problem with the shower in one room and they offered to change rooms around. Lots of different types of rooms to select from! Great area to go for early morning runs and everywhere felt very safe. Also great to be able to have meals on site.
