Arrived on short notice, staff was very helpful, patient, professional, and offering most affordable rooms first. Our group/family wanted a little more room, so we opted for one of the more spacious seaside view rooms. Wow! What an amazing view and able to walk along beach at sunset that seems to last forever here (because of summer solstice). One of our family members took full advantage of the bathroom hottub for over an hour! While others of us went beach combing and enjoyed the scenery. Even though we met several other amazing people staying at the same place, it wasn't very crowded at all and felt like we had the entire beach house, yard and beach area to ourselves. The kids really enjoyed Homer, staying here and everything about it.

Such a cute little historic inn! The rooms are small and cozy, and there are European-style shared bathrooms. Very comfortable beds, an absolutely gorgeous view of the ocean/beach/mountains, and great coffee right in the room. We had a great stay and walked up the street to Fat Olives for dinner. My only complaint is that there were inconsiderate guests staying at the same time we did and they were slamming doors until about 12:30am then again starting at 6am. Not the hotel’s fault at all, but perhaps the front desk could let people know they need to close doors quietly out of respect for others.

The Driftwood Inn is a perfect place to stay to get the Homer vibe. It is comfortable and homey, clean and friendly. The lobby has a big stone fireplace and comfy sofas. I spent about 5 days at the Driftwood Inn, hoping to arrive during the peony season, I was too early for that, but still had a lovely visit. The location just about on Bishops Beach is away from the touristy “Spit” but very convenient. There is a wonderful old fisherman’s cottage across the road with a view of Katachamak Bay beyond. I recommend spending at least a few nights there.

The best place for a family gathering! We rented the seaside lodge and the katchemak cottage. We enjoyed the great accommodations, the amazing deck, all the necessities to cook meals, and the proximity to the beach. Oh and the playground! Great place for kids. The staff was lovely and quick to help. Check in and out was a breeze. They even allowed a one night extension when we couldn’t end the fun just yet. We will be back!

The hospitality offered by the Driftwood Inn was superb. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The steak house across the street, which is owned by the daughter of the Driftwood Inn, was phenomenal. The front desk also arranged a seaplane trip for us to visit bears. It was a highlight of our visit to Homer. So, too, was the Fish & Wildlife center.

Have stayed (with dogs & kids) at the Driftwood for over 20 years. Convenient location next to Bishop's Beach and Two Sisters bakery. Variety of room options. We had Room 21 (I believe!?) this time and it was perfect for a family w a living room and kitchenette. Also loved that it had outdoor hoses for our bikes after riding on the beach.

The best place in Homer Alaska to stay at . Right next to the water and walking distance to several dining places , just needed more time to see everything, will definitely be back this next summer for some deep sea fishing and sightseeing!!!!

I stayed at the driftwood while in Homer for a motorcycle trip. The front desk clerk was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area! The rooms were so cozy for a single person, they were clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again if my travels bring me back up!

Such a great place. So awesome to support a family business instead of some corporate mega hotel. If you are in Homer, make this a destination for you to stay at. Great slice of history to partake in. Hotel is a great location that is off the beaten path and allows you to step back in history for a bit.
