When you arrive at the Grand Chancellor you will find a tiny front drive that can fit about 4 cars, where you are supposed to be able to park, check in, and then move your car to their underground parking. However, this front drive is not monitored so when we arrived the driveway was completely full with no one there to direct us anywhere. We drove around the block to enter the underground parking and unloaded our bags which we had to carry up the stairs from the parking garage as there was no guest lift that we could easily find (good luck if you have trouble with stairs). At the bottom of the stairs there is a button that you can supposedly use to call someone to assist with your bags. We tried to use this and though we could hear the bell upstairs, it was not answered (even just to let us know that someone would come), so we gave up and carried our bags up the stairs. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it was clearly very dated. We could see some effort had been made to update the rooms visually but the installations felt very half-****d. For instance instead of a shower curtain for the bath tub there was a half glass pane that is delightfully too short and instead bounces water off its side and onto the floor. A rainfall showerhead had also been installed but it seemed like an afterthought as it was crooked and had poor water pressure. We then tried to use the pool. Upon entry, I felt like I was taken back in time to the days of dark and damp fitness centers and unmaintained pool floors & furniture. There were no staff nearby and the entire area was a mess. Walking into the locker rooms was a shock with horrible banged up smelly lockers (many of which were open but had no key to lock it!) and awful grey blue shiny tiles that bounce the cold flickering white light around. The shared sauna between male and female locker rooms was also a joke. We left without even bothering to get changed or use the pool. We then attempted to dine at the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The host at the front asked if we had a reservation which we did not. He then looked around at the many empty tables as if he was not sure what to do and then asked us to ”wait outside” as he checked availability. We have never been asked to exit any restaurant whilst they searched for a table (even in much busier restaurants) and we were very frustrated by this request. We waited outside over 5 minutes and then decided to leave and ask the front desk staff for other local restaurant recommendations. As we were on our way out, we noticed the restaurant host was hovering nearby as if he had found us a table and was waiting for us to be done but we left without another look. Upon arriving back in our room after dinner and turning off the lights to sleep, we were graced with the hallway light streaming through the large cracks in the poorly fitted door. The location is good, you can get off at sky bus stop 5 and walk there in 6 minutes. The rooms are satisfactory and will definitely allow visitors to have a good rest! It would be even better if the hotel has a buffet laundry service!

We went to macq01 as a little getaway before our second baby arrives. I hadn’t told the staff that however they noticed I was pregnant and delivered a gift box full of bath salts etc & some chocolates to our room. The rooms there are always beautiful and we love staying at macq01! We’ve stayed multiple times. Highly recommend.

A hotel where Muming came to live, the room was large, there was a refrigerator inside, there was a lot of food in it, all were paid for consumption, and it was difficult for me to buy a bottle of milk. The hotel is very close to the pier. The airport bus has a stop at the door. Ask the front desk for the departure time. It is very convenient to rush to the airport.

The hotel is strategically located, but has a long history. The facilities in the room are outdated. The bed is already collapsed. The air conditioner is facing the bed. Will not book again in the future. Just put a picture of a carpet!

The scenery outside the window is simply amazing. I booked it for one day, and then postponed it for another 2 days.

A very trendy hotel. They offered to upgrade me to a larger room and provide valet parking. Although there was nothing to park in, the overall experience was very nice. However, the glass door was polished too brightly and I bumped into it.

We have stayed here on several occasions and previously wrote a glowing review not long after the property had opened. Our last stay was more like Fawlty Towers. I have sent a private email directly to Maylands Lodge more than two weeks ago and there was no response. I don't know what has happened to Mayland's but I would hate a potential visitor to consider my previous review and make a booking based on how it was then. Firstly our room wasn't cleaned. There were clothing labels and hair on the floor from a previous occupant. The milk in our fridge expired the day we arrived and was actually lumpy. There was only plunger coffee offered. Breakfast was no longer on offer due to staffing issues although we still payed for breakfast as part of the tariff. There was no partial refund or vouchers for breakfast elsewhere or breakfast hamper offered. Plumbing issues in the room next door continued until well after 11pm and then the wind caused the hallway door to bang throughout the night. It was possibly the worst night's sleep I've had since my children were small. We actually considered forfeiting our second night and staying elsewhere to get some sleep. Also the car park was no longer secure and the gates remained open all night. To be honest - I'm unhappy to write such a poor review and that's why I initially sent a private email to Mayland's and I have no idea what is now going on with this premises but we certainly will not be wasting our time and money by staying here in the future when there are such lovely accommodation offerings within the city.

The location is good, not far from the port. If you check in on Saturday, turn right for two minutes and you will find the Salamanca market. There is a kitchen in the room. It is convenient to drive to the supermarket. Not new but okay, the elevator is a bit scary and it shakes when stopped. In addition, the parking lot is not large enough. If each room is driven by car, it is estimated that the parking is not enough, but it is free when parking.
