Seascape Retreat

My wife & I simply adored this place. Originally, the impetus for visiting Adelaide was simply to see Paul McCartney in concert at a much smaller venue than in Sydney. Though we decided to make a week of it. Why not explore South Australia a little more?! I'm so glad we did. Seascape Retreat proved to be the perfect tonic, immediately imparting a sense of country calm. After the second of three nights there, I'd almost forgotten we were in S.A to see Sir Paul. My photos won't do the views justice, though looking down the valley from our villa toward Victor Harbour was incredibly calming. The surrounding wildlife included many different bird species. Galahs, Kookaburras, Cockatoos, Willy Wagtails, Magpies, Crows. Visually beautiful, aurally soothing. Kangaroos appeared around the property every morning and evening, and the resident llamas were chilling nearby just doing their llama thing. (We were sorry we didn't sight the local echidna, even though Mark the owner pointed us in the right direction) Seascape Retreat is the perfect distance outside of Victor Harbour proper, probably a 10-minute drive, and made us feel as though we were in a little world of our own. It’s been mentioned in previous reviews, so I will mention it too. There is a little drive from the road to the main property, though unless you are riding a penny farthing bicycle, I'm really not sure what the fuss is about. Any car will happily handle this 'driveway' and one should absolutely treat it as an ever-changing mini wildlife tour. There were multiple kangaroo sightings each day. Our villa was immaculately presented, with amazing views from all rooms. There was a locally sourced bottle of wine and cookies on arrival, and pretty much any amenity you could think of was catered for. The bed was large and super comfortable. If you are reading this review or viewing the property, as I initially did on TripAdvisor, it may well book you automatically into the Sky Villa, which I believe is the smaller villa. I’m glad I read that so I could book the larger Serenity Villa. If, however, you are after a slow combustion fire…then go for the Sanctuary Villa, roughly the same cost as the Serenity Villa. What else can I say? I guess the ultimate compliment is that we wanted to get out and explore, though didn’t really want to leave our beautiful villa. Thank you Mark & Tracey.

We stayed 3 nights in the Sky Villa, our first impression was "oh wow, this is nice". A small courtyard with bbq leads to a full sized kitchen, a spacious bathroom and a generous bedroom/lounge with a lovely view. The villa is spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and fully equipped. It was a pleasure to settle into the peace and quiet after a days exploring the area, especially the little extra details such as plenty of cushions and throw rugs, magazines, complimentary wine and even a jar of chocolates in the cupboard. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay.

Fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the quietude. Close to fantastic restaurants and the town of Victor Harbour. Great views over the valley to the coast. The place was very clean and well stocked. Heartily recommend the place to couples or book adjoining villas and make it a group event. Either way it is sure to please.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the compact Skye Villa at Seascape Retreat. Though small the accommodation was perfectly adequate, comfortable and well equipped for a couple for a three-night stay. Enjoyed the view out through the paddocks with the alpaca and sheep to Granite Island and the Bluff. Very relaxing and highly recommended to anyone wanting a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle.

The place was amazing the views were beautiful. I booked through bookings.com and it showed me the room with the stairs which is what I thought I booked but was disappointed it was not that one. It would have been good to have a smart TV so we could chrome cast from our phones as the TV didn't have much on it and kept cutting out so we resorted to watching Netflix on our phones. Other then that it was a nice little get away and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Seascape Retreat is a wonderful set of 3 villas tucked away in Hindmarsh Valley, offering luxury accommodation and stunning views. We have stayed in each of the villas during our 6 visits to Seascape, they are all beautiful. You will keep coming back!

A beautiful and secluded spot, with sea and valley views in front and forest trails with lots of wildlife out the back. The villa was extremely comfortable and well-equipped and spotless. A great place to decompress and get away from it all.

Amazing accomodation. Amazing location. Amazing views, the perfect weekend escape. Mark was fantastic to deal with and provided all info necessary. So many kangaroos! We will be back for sure. The accomodation had everything needed for meals and ammenities. Very comfy bed too!

An amazing hidden getaway but still close to home. Beautiful place in an equally beautiful location. Can't falt a thing. Felt welcomed right from arrival. It was great to relax and unwind. Awesome hosts! We'll definitely will be back again.
